Got my Rift today. I ran into frequent 'Hardware Error' msgs during setup, and then frequent hdmi disconnects from the HMD. Needless to say, I was beside myself and already exhausted from the day. I sent in a support ticket. Then, I decided to try some of the USB 3.1 ports that are used for ss charging on my MB. Well, all is well and no disconnects.
I will be honest and say the lens flaring was disappointing, even though I already knew about it. However, after playing ED for a while it wasn't really bothering me as much. Besides, the comfort, lightweight, quality, ease of use, integrated mic and headphones.....I'm willing to put up with the lens flare. I played for well over an hour, of which at that point the dk2 would've been irritating me, it pushes on my sinuses, and occasionally presses against my nose which is uncomfortable. The cv1 had no discomfort for me. I could've easily played for a loooooong time.
Quick note, I compounded my experience tonight bc I got an X52 in the mail. So, I worked on learning that in place of my thrust master t-flight hotas X. Gonna take some getting used to, but I like it.
