Greetings,

I just performed my first experiment with UA's and barnacles. It consisted of me taking a UA to the barnacle on Merope 2A (the one with the cap ship).

Results -
1. Nothing happened when I placed the UA next to the barnacle itself. No reaction from barnacle or Cap Ship.
2. Nothing happened when I placed the UA on top of the Cap ship itself.
3. I proceeded to destroy the UA with the tip of my Conda, it died, with again no reaction from the cap ship.

I do have video footage of the experiment, so if anybody wants to see it, give me the word and I will compile and upload the footage within 24 hours of the request.

Thanks,

Omate.

Results as expected and now I don't have to do it my self.[up]:)[up]

Lurker here.

MB does seem to be popping in more than he usually does :D. I think there's 3 possibilities:

  1. 2.1 is just out, so he's taking it easy and just lurking in this thread like lots of others
  2. 2.1 is just out, so he's very kindly keeping an eye on things in case what we're seeing does not tally with expected results (i.e. to spot bugs and stop resulting wild goose chases or inappropriate dismissal of correct lines of enquiry)
  3. he's expecting something (big) to be found in the near future

option 1 seems unlikely to me given how hard FD seem to be working most of the time.

option 2 seems possible, and if so, all credit to him.

option 3 seems likely to me, especially in view of the capital class ship arriving. If so,

Well on the BUG front people are getting massive amount of CRASH TO DESKTOPs. TBH it is a pain when you're scouring the surface of Merope 2A for Alines to kill.

Is it common to find Data points on planets far away from the bubble? I am in this one system nebula. Don't remember the name. there are 3 stars and 2 planets that are suitable for Barnacles. I was driving around my srv and noticed a strange signal that i haven't heard before. Headed that way... Really thought it was a barnacle but it turned out to be a Data point. I found two of them in two different canyons. It would be so nice if you could look at the actual data that you are recovering. To know what is it about.

I'm still wondering what the barnacle data is???

Hang on,

I did the experiment in solo and there were no system security surrounding the Farrugut. I now logged in in open play and the thing is surrounded. I will repeat the experiment in OpenPlay. I'll report back with any new findings.

Thanks,

Omate

all right.. so.. finally, after quite a few weeks now yesterday night I found my first Barnacle!!! This moment, when you finally see the white spot appearing, these contrasted point, and you immediately recall your speech for when you find your first one (we all have one, be honest), in my case is this phrase I kept repeating like a mantra: "well, hi there!". When you get a bit closer to confirm the spikes appearing like small dots around the white spot, the joy-joy feelings showing up, in fact, I was so overly excited that I immediately woke up.

So, In the Asp again, going for the next planet.. Bed 1 Vs Game 0..

This is how I was able to rout (destroy) the Farragut. When I arrived first time, there was a handful of interceptors as expected. When I relogged there were at least 4 vultures guarding the (new) Farragut.

joy-joy feelings
lol. Joy-joy feelings need to become an actual thing :)

We're looking into it. Is it happening on Xbox One, or PC? Or both?

Michael

Huge amounts on PC, Had a few Cmdrs on Twitter @CanonnResearch come back to me about it. Not had anyone specify Mac or Xbox yet. - Thanks for helping with this Michael.

We are also getting loads of long range wakes. both high and low on the scanners. Is that a bug too or a clue to locations of interesting things.....?
