UAs, Barnacles & More Thread 6 - The Canonn

Coming back to something resembling science: The barnacle on Witch Head Sector LC-V C2-10 A4 is still healthy and without defences as of 1855 game time today, June 17th, 3302. And by parking the ship overhead and then using the selfie-cam, I was able to spot all 34 spikes.

Scanning one of the barnacles gave a 100k data package, scanning the other gave an error. Spike scanning gave 2xUranite, 1x Silver, 1xColtan.

Quite a bit of outcrops in the canyon with the barnacle, found Tellurium, but other than that just the very common/common stuff.

Will do DSS of the remaining objects in this system, and then move to Witch Head Sector GW-W C1-4 A 4 to gawk at the two finds there. If there is stuff you want me to do/look at, send me a note in-game.

Question about the barnacles:

I've been hovering over the twin barnacles at -33.4, -44.4 on California Sector DL-Y D4 C 6 ever since last night. They were completely tapped then, and they are completely tapped now (8 hours later). Which leads me to wonder, do barnacles regenerate any more? Will I gain anything by staying here and trying again in an hour, 2 hours, etc?

Same thing happend with sol. That was not on Galnet either. Only big things go on Galnet.

HD 131336 is 1428 LYs away from Maia. Can someone check the distance from sol? 1340 years from 1962 to 3302. But what does the guy mean with 'it begins with a T'?

Not my credits. I've only check wiki after the hint of CMDRthedarthknight.

I think it's a dead-end. What he thought of has already been tried before, however that doesn't mean something hasn't changed. I'm going to take a quick visit there this evening when I get home to see if I can find anything.

I think he means 'we have a tenuous link that we're either not entirely sure of, and don't want to say exactly what it is because a) We might look silly and b) If we're right, we want the glory

The morse message doesn't work as a link to UAs - the message itself was useless as a source for learning Morse - three Russian words that didn't contain the entire alphabet (certainly no numbers) and no way of working out what they actually meant.

In any case - if you detect a message like that, then you'll go to the source of the message, right? They'd be around Sol - not around the Pleiades surely.

Please ignore darth knight's "hints", it's p. (my motto: until proven otherwise) You're free to try and check HD 131336 but mrtree's already gone there with a UA and found nothing. No freefloaters were found in that system.

They change state every Thursday when they do the powerplay update (well some do, some stay the same). We're updating the sheet below this weekend. The one you're hovering over hasn't chaged since last week but it was intact two Thursdays ago.

Yes, but it's the consensus that certain levers can be pulled to trigger events faster which also pre-determines the outcome of those events. To what end? No one knows.
