Here's my meeting with the battlecruiser at Merope 2A (in open play). Not much going down. Funny thing is that my trackIR acted up for a short time when I got close to the barnacle - perfect timing [big grin]

"...and there’s one aspect we’d like your input with. One of the reasons for passengers travelling is tourism"
So what's the other reasons? covert missions to the fabled Raxxla or other interesting not yet found places. is this how fd are going to solve/implement helping us to find things in this massive sandbox?

If Thargoids invade & kick humanity out of the bubble, as apparently was intimated to an out of game source, then civilians will need evacuation. However I have no idea how we would make ship repairs without stations & shipyards

Dont think its related.
Its landmarks not mysteries places.
Its the attempt to give passenger Ships a use for missions.

The Barnard Loop being offlimits now. Is much more likely to be something here.
I wonder what they are hiding there

As Brooks said. "Permit locked systems were always permit locked but they were not working properly but now they do." Or something along the lines of that.

But using passengers as sources of information is a easy way to guide the player base to stuff Frontier want us to find today and not in a million year time. I say there a strong possibility that if not immediately but at some point in the future passenger missions could become sources of information for lore.

Maybe I have just gone blind, but I can't see the link any more to the spreadsheet with all known barnacle locations on the OP. Is it still there?

Barnard's loop is certainly not off limits. Only horsehead nebula is. You can still get all up in Barnard's loop unless that changed this past cycle tick. I've been all over it post 2.1

Those are good articles (apart from the sothis gazette one)
I wonder why none of them were on GalNet as it seems very intresting

Because they are autogenerated articles for the BGS Outbreak state. They have been seen in Sol, Achenar and elsewhere already.

we know this. which is why were saying only 99% sure.....however like i said we have made connections between certain things. and it just all fits.. also i know this sounds troll like but we really dont want to ruin it for some people who enjoy the journey rather than skipping straight to the ending

You are going about it the wrong way if you are 99% sure. If you played fair and did the research without decompiling the game or have an inside source then you are more than welcome to share your thoughts on here. That is the point of this thread.
Holding it back valuable information is stupid and no one likes stupid scientists.

As Brooks said. "Permit locked systems were always permit locked but they were not working properly but now they do." Or something along the lines of that.

nice revisionist explanation Brooks had there. Unless we're supposed to believe that "broken for while" refers to the entire year+ the game was out for prior to the 2.1 patch that turned it into a permit locked system. Up until then nothing in the area was permit blocked.

The permit systems are bugged last I heard (2 days ago).

Separate from the permit locked systems are the Unknown Permit systems which are locked with no way to access at all.

An enite sector locked off is suspiscious.
If it was only open because it was bugged thats not changing it being suspiscious :p

Dont think so.
Passengers will only go to already discovered locations.
Its not a mysterie if your shipping tourists there

Ah then that one. Lol

Yes, there were certain permit systems that were buggy for the last couple weeks and they may be fixed now. But what Brooks was replying to was in regards to the permit locked sectors (not systems) ...out and around Witch Head and Horse Head nebulas which had not been permit locked at all until 2.1 dropped. His reply reads that they always should have been permit blocked and it just wasn't working until recently. Which i'm saying is , and is rather just part of the ongoing creation of ED's backstory.

You are presuming that taking passengers on tour is the only thing we will ever be able to do with passengers. That may be the case with the first implementation of passengers but eventually they will expand to do other things like provide missions, pre arrange meetings with other ships, provide information, make requests.

Just arrived on Witch Head Sector GW-W C1-4 A 4 near -66/-173.62, and I can confirm this one.

More images including GPSC
[*] shots at http://imgur.com/a/rJByy. I am not sure if this one has 34 or 36 spikes.

I can also confirm that only one of the two barnacles is picked up by the wave scanner. Demo video for the bug report:

Scan results: Only 76 kCr, 2xUranite, Silver, Cobalt.
