I'm talking about sectors and regions refers to sectors in this case. So nothing more to read there.

Some people are getting confused because there has been some systems that have had issues supplying the permit after taking the appropriate missions recently. Brook's comment is why that's being confused because the idea that sectors/regions was "broken for a while" requires that we define "a while" to be the entire existence of the game up until 2.1. Hence my revisionist comment. They're still making up the Elite story as they go and sometimes that requires retconning the galaxy.

I dont give a Wet one about them being supposed to have been locked before or them having been locked now.

The Fact is that this *Region* far out of Populated Space is Locked with an Unknown System Permit.

And THIS IS SUSPICIOUS.

Heck actually its making it even more Suspicious because it means they did not want us to fly in there while it was empty....

I agree with you there that they are suspicious. But if they are locked up, then they are dead leads until they become unlocked. So what leads do we have?

We have a capital ship floating over a barnacle in Merope 2A in what appears as Federation forces moving in to secure one of these creatures.
I heard (can anyone confirm) Alliance setting up a listening post in Merope or Maia not sure on that. And that the Empire doesnt even care at the moment.

So either this capital ship is there to recover one of these barnacles, or the UAs were searching for a ship which is hiding on a planet near a barnacle I put my money on the first theory. I am also starting to think that something is going to happen soon in Merope.

At the current time I am in Hind Nebula looking on planets

Them being Locked means you cant get in.
But you can still check the Surroundings ;)
Something IS in there. And there must be way to find out what it is *gg*

It says unknown permit required so the lead would be how to get that permit :)

No bro, MB already answered that these systems are locked by the devs with no way to get inside. The ones called "Unknown permit."

Can I please get a second confirmation that what I am saying is accurate?

And also very uncool if its true.

Since it means they wont have an Alien race which is there and which we need to discover but they basicly put the Aliens in right under our noses while saying they were there we just cheated you out.....
That would be lame......

Ah sorry it was an random example for what they are building in there. Not an assumption.

Basicly whatever they implement in there will not be new to us cause we did not find it. But because they just added it right in our face.
Thats lame.

Popular theory is that Inra is still active and is responsible for getting sectors outside of the bubble locked out. The reasons are top secret and both the Fed and empire and alliance are in on it, In that they back Inra and give them power to do so unilaterally

Honestly I think that these things could be done a little better. I havent given it much thought but it is a little confusing especially for newer players. Us veterans can quickly figure out what is what but there are lots of people who are probably assuming that there is a way to get in those systems it is just a secret.

But I also think that the explanation that you mention would be enough to not break immersion. Or something similar. Im not really a fan of invisible walls, without explanations in the story.

Also, keep in mind that Thargoids, If I heard correctly, are inter-dimensional beings. They could literally come in under our noses if they wanted to.

FYI: I see an 4x increased UA spawn rate since last week. I have been collecting Unknown Fragments for Palin, and it's much quicker than last week (one Anomaly every 5 mins vs every 20 mins).
System: HIP 14479
My data can be found in this Google doc.

Might be related to the latest server patch?
