Why even have a mission board, when this is the result?

In what world is it useful to the player to have a mission giver offering no missions.

If these new characters have nothing to offer why are they even appearing in the list? In which case you would have an empty list, so why even bother having a mission board?...

You lock many commodities behind the mission system, as the only way to obtain them and then you create a mission system that gives the above result!

Each giver should have at least 5 missions. There should be balance between exploration, combat and trade. Missions should be weighted towards your rank. More commodities and materials should be given as reward. Give us the option to select from 3 different materials or commodities as our reward. Give us some agency in this mechanic!

FD, please... fix your damn game!

That's not "how to fix it" that's how to raise your standing with said faction, and their influence, without doing missions for them. This wouldn't fix the problem seeing as the OP is on decent terms with all the factions, and even the dominant factions are offering no missions.

Well, there is one active mission on the board there, so that's something.

Unfortunately, you don't meet the requirements, sorry! ;)

Okay, yes, having a blank board appear like that is a bit silly. Frontier server issues, perhaps?

Nope, not server issues. It's been doing this in tons of different systems since 2.1 was released. It's not my connection here either.

That way you at least know which factions exist in the station (yes, I know that information is also available in the system map).

And please reallocate the intern who designed the avatars! [haha]

The avatars (remember there are about half a million of them) are not designed, they are procedurally generated.

The purpose of the mission board is to give missions. If it doesn't do that then how does it serve the player.

Oh...seems that I didn't read the memo. Thanks.
Those RNG again... [wacky]

What was at the top of the board? If you scrolled up.

I think the point of them appearing, even with no missions is you can still gain rep with them, if you are playing one or two factions.

There were probably some missions there but that's missing the point. A mission giver should always offer something, otherwise they cease to be of any use.

I'll bet this happens all the time.....I've never seen it, but I only did missions for like 20 hrs this weekend so...

I've played a hell of a lot. Unlocked all engineers and got them all up to grade 5. Mission givers with zero missions happens very often...

PG != RNG

They are not random but calculated from a fixed seed. Each time the same avatars are being generated.

Edit: Back on topic, I do not think it is a problem or an error to have mission givers without missions. Just come back at another time and they may have missions for you. These are not the World of Warcraft mission givers with an exclamation or question mark above their heads, but agents who may or may not have a job for you.

Look at the pending states for that one faction ... someone messed with the BGS.
And since when are all those minor factions in Shinrarta?

I'm more concerned about the "Pending states: Boom, Bust, Civil Unrest, Outbreak, Retreat". What in the actual??

Well, that +1.

Not entirely, believe or not I agree with you.

I did edit my post above, but i think the the reason is so you can see how to increase your rep/play the BGS for them by seeing what state they are in and what their needs are.

Could it be done better, probably.

This happens from time to time. Switching between modes or just logging off and on usually fixes it.

Doesn't excuse the fact that it happens of course but at least there is a solution.
