That quote is already starting to come around to kick you in the ass even with the question of who or what is proving me wrong.

"Hey guys, look these screen shots are taken by me - they prove everything is great and wonderful!"

Less than half a day later...

"You hacked through a borked part of a borked game to get borked screenshots..."

That's why there's no video, and that's why you ducked out with the promise of the alpha patch. You could have waited to patch and taken a quick video, but as per CR himself - you cut and run with a complete fabrication.

So, how's it feel to be the troll you call everyone else to be?

Seriously though, anyone who expects anything else this soon after 2.4 is delusional. The current build has so few mechanics implemented other than a map you can do usual cryengine stuff in, there being a longer and more comprehensive patch notes list isn't very realistic. If they had stuff in there, they would already have shown it. When they'll have things to show, it'll be a major point release so why expect anything new before 2.5?

I'm confused by the persistence thing - what does it mean?

Did they literally un-persist the persistence on the epic journey from .0 to .1?

Is that even possible (not a gamedev) - should we expect side effects?

Has the very essence of persistence itself been irreparably damaged?

To be honest though, I can't find Prokar claiming it was a procedural planet in a background or that he has shown anything new. I think the series of images was meant to show that the first screenshot was made in the game.

He's the worst kind, he had to lie to validate his arguments, while almost everyone here (excluding GordF) has been using facts and what are known to be facts based on CR statements in their discussions.

What could he possibly say in his defence after that display? Tune in tomorrow, same Pro time, same Pro channel I guess.

Honestly he shouldn't be engaged after that. There is no honest discussion with him. I've watched you guys undo his arguments from the start, to the point where I'm curious why you all even bother.

But ""we're all adults here right".

I somewhat agree, however, I think he still meant to introduce that as something other than what it truly was otherwise he would have been out right honest with it when someone questioned on where he acquired the screenshot from.

Well that's the entire point of an argument :D Always, always check the facts. Never assume that the person making the argument has presented facts accurately.

Yeah, but dreams stop when you wake up so I stopped trusting dreams many years ago: If you can't show it then you don't know it

ED is flawed, yes, but it is a production relaease from an existing software house. NMS has hit flak because they've takes $ off folks and are delayed, but they have a major backer who can bail them out if required. COW:IW and Mass Effect: Andromeda? We won't throw down cash until there's a product of some description to purchase, and knowing both of those franchises there will definitely be a polished product, even if it's not liked by a lot of punters.

CIG are still selling "alpha" concepts a whole lot of years after release.

What can you demonstrate? Not plans, not dreams, but actual product?

Can'd do that? Speculation.

EDIT: I really wish that I have production-level spelling one day.

I know it's tough for you to accept, but we're kind of... all individuals with different opinions. Weird, huh? It isn't an us vs them thing with CR bravely leading his imaginary million fans against the dark forces of Derek Smart, Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers, and Harry Secombe.

I guess it's easier to dismiss criticism if you imagine it all comes from one unified group of malcontents that all have a red phone to HQ.

As fun a scenario that might be, i'm afraid it's down to what it always was: Chris Roberts' bad management leading a lot of backers to doubt his abilities, competence, and judgment. We gave him money and he's squandering it on extravagances, idiocy, and pipe dreams. Star Citizen has been floundering for way too long, it doesn't take a gang to work that out!

Here's the difference between Star Citizen and Elite:

You know what's coming with Elite.

Why? Because Frontier has a history of saying what they're going to do and then doing it. That's how most game companies work. They have a plan, they work to that plan, and they deliver when that plan says they do. The plan may not be perfect and occasionally there will be delays or hiccups, but professional organizations accommodate that. That professionalism leads to credibility. Frontier has a history of telling you what to expect and then delivering on it. Cloud Imperium Games does not. Instead they have a history of saying something exciting, drumming up interest, and then going silent. Nobody in their right mind believes that Squadron 42 is coming out this year and yet that's what CIG told people to expect during CitCon of last year. There is no big picture for Star Citizen, only a series of minor patches and vague promises of a grand vision that's almost two years late.

Star Citizen is not a game. It's a dream. It's the dream of Chris Roberts. It's funded by the dreams of backers. It's fantasy. There is no design document, there is no path to release, there is no game.

So Gord, have *you* played the super secret build of SC that your buddy Prokar has shown screenshots of here yet?

If so give all of us "gang members" a taste of what we can expect from this genre-defining development, how it handles so smoothly and how it surely blows everything else in the gaming world out of the water.

Also can you tells us if it ties in with the new 2.4.1 update that CIG have just released too?
