I won't be disappointed if AC is delayed. The problem that concerns me most is that there won't be control settings setup in-game and presumably no TrackIR support.
Controls or trackir didn't even make the list of bugs....
They sounded a lot more game breaking than a bit of a problem with head tracking (if that is indeed an issue.)
I really wish them well as I would have backed them (I just don't have the rig to even try right now,) but I think they've bit off a little more than they can chew.
Expectations and all that.
Unfortunately not that surprising. That's really not good idea announce delay in day you have promised everyone that they will release this time. Come on, it's an alpha. How much polished you want it to be? Manage some expectations.

It looks like the 'blocker' bugs will make the game unplayable. While I think people will be reasonably tolerant of bugs, releasing it in a state where no-one can actually play the game for more than a few seconds will create much more of a backlash than delaying.
"Give Us The Option To Get Our Money Back"
A title from a thread over there...
Ouch.
I don't envy the job of developers. They very rarely get any kudos while their game is still being played. It's not till it's long gone that people sing their praises.
But then how come that they have postponed the release the day of the release? Did they find these bugs yesterday evening? I doubt that. Most probably they knew all this bugs and hoped to fix them the last moment. But this simply doesn't work - never leave major things to do for the last moment. Or do not give exact date of the release if you can't deliver on time, which happens to CIG all the time I might add.
Some people are fools IMO, they have done the right thing. So long as it is only a matter of weeks not months. Yes alpha is alpha but you have seen what many are like over there. Massive game breakers would create more heat than ever. Asking for money back due to delayed alpha is nuts. Release dates slip, end of story and this is even more fluid as its an alpha
Imagine the spinning sidewinder moans and multiply by 100.
So long as it is out soon, me personally am happy
Remember it was not so long ago some on here were expecting a finished ED in March.........
The is a post in the Katamari whinge thread that says the delay is because;
For the benefit of those not in chatroll talking to Ben and Lewis - the main issue has been a bug that appeared today, in today's final build, it appeared out of nowhere and they don't know what's causing it.
It causes the game to crash extremely frequently whenever a Vanduul ship is either destroyed, or spawned. Given that Vanduul are being spawned and destroyed continuously, you might be able to get between 0-2 minutes of game time before the client crashes.
That's the blocker, it's a fresh bug and there's no way they could even consider releasing until it's been patched.
This isn't a "Oh it's a buggy alpha I expect bugs" type of bug, this is a "OK this is completely unplayable" bug. As soon as that one blocker is fixed, I'm sure they'll launch.
It wasn't in their last build, and they have no idea why it's happening now - or how to get rid of it.
About 25 posts in here - https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/133407/katamari-can-we-just-have-a-giant-katamari-for-all-of-the-displeased-with-x-threads/p1
So it does sound like it came out of nowhere - assuming of course that the poster is correct about what Ben and Lewis said and that what they said is accurate.
Might be wise to keep the champers on ice till PB drops tomorrow - which I expect it will.
But just in case - to avoid any potential egg meets face type scenario.
