There is no general consensus, there ever isn't in things like this.
Some are keeping an eye on M5c, some are looking at the UA Shell as the possible meaning of the "Circle/Sphere/Round thing" on the sonogram.
Some think it could be Sol, some the Galaxy, some the Bubble.
Some are hearing voices, some are hearing music.
Some are asking for hints as usual.
Some are going to check Elephant's Trunk Sector for free floater UPs.

Me, I'm going on holidays soon...

From the CMDR who posted about it:

"I was looking at some screen shots I have on imigur. It was 60 days ago and inside the nebula. I don't have a photo of the probe I had no idea at the time it was special. I know the system would be on your right as you approach from the galatic core. I was trying to get a screen shot from the nebula looking back at the galaxy."

INSIDE THE NEBULA IS A GOOD START!

Sounds very fimilar to when the first free floater ua was find! Maybe someone will get lucky

Be careful ! Thats logical ! The only trouble is, logic rarely has anything at all to do with these mysteries. Yes, I am sure they make sense when you know all the details, but the details we are given never display logical progression.
You are not the only one to see the logic, a fair few people have hunted Merope system for stuff to no avail. I spent 3 hours traveling into Merope deep space out to 700,000ls and found only Threat 0s containing the same-old. Others have been even deeper and not found anything. You might assume that the inner system has been thoroughly explored, but you never know.

Well, now you jinxed it. Someone will find Braben's face in a star 15k ly from Sol and we will all have a mass exodus to see if it means anything.

Hey guys I deliver my theory here.

As we know UA and UP is product of early (human?) civilization/corporation from the past. Something happened and they gone. And there is only crazy AI that trying to search and doing something unlawful in space.

Analyzing artefacts we discover they can into binary signals (remember how they draw player ships in grid?). According to this, maybe AI was self-teached thousand years based on accidentally met human technology in process. It is logical if they send info about player ships to mothership or HQ.

But. The binary symbols in the corner of message looks like they from Voyager. (I hope it applies to lore, not the fdevs random mind only for this case).

What if AI scan Voyager then it fly near alien mothership or home sector. Can someone check Voyager fly path according to ~2016-~3000 year in game? What sectors Voyager crossed?

I suggest to check the nearby Nebula as well, and to cruise for some time in every system you check, knowing that those kind of spawns have changed (UA like).
There's no need to check every system, just pick them randomly, but accordingly to what we know about the UA Shell.

AND REMEMBER: even if you "simply" find an UA, IT IS IMPORTANT AS WELL!!! No UAs outside the shell so far.

Hi Rizal, I'm not sure if this is important to science, but I found an UA about 90 odd LY's from Canonn Institute system COL 285 SECTOR IX-T D3-43 On my way back from California Nebula this was just after 2.1 went live.
Unfortunately I got too close, it was first time I saw one in the wild and the UA exploded, I did'nt bookmark the system at the time either, stupid me.
If any commanders are heading off to Elephants Trunk maybe detour and scan a 100-150 LY radius around COL 285 SECTOR IX-T D3-43 as well.

You know...Its been so long since I've been exploring I've forgotten how far 1000ly are roughly on the map *que me scrolling across the map for like 5 mins* Hopefully i can get to elephant soon :)

AFAIK Voyager is still in Sol. Haven't been there yet though.
