Same.

FDev?

Same on my end. I'm in Denmark, just to try to tie it to a geographical location.

.
This leads me to two questions:
1. Why do so many people in this thread say you get FIVE times the materials, while the patch says it is THREE times as much?
2. How does this address the problem at all? It seems like a random adjustment without even trying to understand what the issue is.
.
To explain that: I need ONE unit of a material. Formerly one person spent 15 minutes to get it, the other player spent 5 hours at the very same location, doing the very same activity and got ZERO. Now the first one gets THREE units, the other one still gets ZERO. Perhaps I am missing something, but for me this really seems to be a case of not even trying to understand the problem but rather just turning random dials in the hopes that people will be happy.
.
An actual fix would not be "you have a low chance to get it, but if you get it you now get a lot". It would rather increase the drop chances, to create better consistency in the drops.

They mentioned in previous posts that they would be looking at the drop chance, as well as the number per drop. This list probably doesn't include every single change, they never do. Aside from that over the course of time both players will find very similar loot if looking in similarly likely places, it's absurd to think otherwise. Most of the problem with people not finding what they are looking for is where they are looking and how they are doing it.

I'm as confused as you are about the 5 vs 3 thing, I read 3.

I found it, it was from Zac's update about the changes coming in 2.1.05 last week. See bolded sections below.

Greetings Commanders.

You may remember recently that we shared some plans and changes that will be making their way to our next point release (2.1.05) as a direct response to your feedback, thank you again.

You can read the full post here. But as a reminder, the changes included are...

- Adjusting the way the surface scanner works to allow you to see what materials are available from any given planet. This should make locating materials far easier.
- Making a number of changes to the lowest level blueprints. This includes improving the positive effects of low level upgrade results as well as reducing the cost and simplifying the materials needed.
- Increasing the number of units you get for each instance of a material you find. This means instead of getting one unit of a material, you will get multiple units of that material. This will allow you to increase the number of attempts at each Engineer.
- Increasing the number of materials spawned when surface mining. Again, to make the process easier and the materials easier to gather.
- The likelihood of finding rare materials in these instances will also be increased, meaning it will be easier to use higher level blueprints.
- And we will be reviewing the balance and locations of non-planet salvage and reviewing the possible USS locations for each material

Ahead of this update we wanted to share the rebalancing that has been done to the materials required for blueprints to give you information ahead of time so that those of you searching for materials can factor this into your collecting and gameplay.

You can see a full list of the new blueprints requirements that will be added in the next point update (2.1.05) by downloading it from the link below.

This point release is still being finalised and we’re hoping to give more details on the exact date in the next couple of weeks. :D

Thanks again for your continued support and patience.

Fly safe Commanders.

EDIT: The information in this sheet shows changes to the materials needed in blueprints. These are not the complete blueprints, you will still need commodities for rank 2 blueprints and above.

They forgot to add this update:

  • Removed solo and private group mode
  • Combat logging now results in a 30 day ban for the first offence, increasing to 60 days for the second and 120 days for the third.

[cool]

I support the combat log ban. Combat loggers need to be punished for cheating. It could be shown in their public reputation. Such as combat logged X amount of times.

FDev?

same here
i make a quick verification of the game data to see if it helps [up]

Regarding not updating.

Changed to alternate download method, closed launcher and started again.

Options -> Validate game files, large update (saying about 5 minutes at 30+ Mb/second).

Will report back when complete.

Launcher start the game, no upgrade button, but client saying its too old.
Validated game files, did resign into launcher.
What did i miss?

Although i agree with the combat logging ban. 30 days is a bit much as what about people who suffer from packet loss due to the other guy being from somewhere far and remote resulting in your client disconnecting. This would give you a 30 day ban for your client crashing to load the server resulting in people being banned for network issues we cannot control
