Friendly warning Deciat/Farseer

In Open, we turn out the lights.

In Mobius, lights are left on at all times, as some Commanders are afraid of the dark. Lights are allowed to be turned off when 2 Commanders on opposing teams in the same room mutually consent to temporary removal of the bulb.

I think there are some bulb jokes to be had here.

Q: How many PvPers does it take to change a light bulb?
A: None. They will shoot the bulb then each other.

Q: How many members of Canon does it take to change a light bulb?
A: None. The bulb will remain, they will listen to it for hours hoping to pick up on noises coming from it, which they will analyse for possible meaning.

Q: How many haters does it take to change a light bulb?
A: One, who will complain the bulb was the wrong colour in the first place, they will not be happy with the selection of replacement bulbs, and then write a long review on the manufacturers website about how bad the bulbs are.

Q: How many fanboys does it take to change a light bulb?
A: None. The bulb does not need changing. Its just a temporary situation and part of a 10 year plan, and that sooner or later the bulb shall shine anew all by itself!

Is one of this, if any group wants to go for them, you're welcome

Love the last one! "It's a feature!" XD

So every time certain people don't like a game mechanic we get this kind of behaviour in-game? Oh good.

Yes. Oh and all the rest of the time as well.

Edited -Turns out it was a different clown than the clown I expected.

We are meant to be impartial in our moderating, not in our opinions. Expecting mods to be sans opinion... well, if that were the case, we'd simply have to run secondary accounts where we can post our opinions and not be shown as being moderators. That would be worse perhaps, since it would be invisible to regular users when a moderator was pushing their opinion and moderating in line with that.

When Frontier have gone to some length to portray all modes of play as valid (OK - some of the forum may disagree with that statement :) ), are they happy that one of their moderators seems to be advocating the removal of one of those modes, which in all consequential probability, would result in the death of their game? Yes I'm (partially) joking. :) ;) :p

How many PVE'ers does it take to change a light bulb? None, they're playing in the other room so how would they know it's bad?

Writing mod had off isn't a requirement. Some mods do it, others don't.

At least if i'm banging on about open vs solo, and then i ban you in the same thread for what you see as being an invalid reason, you can flag it to Brett and tell him that i was unfairly moderating in a thread i was actively posting in.

Pros and cons to both sides of course.

Except moderation action is now issued by 'The moderation team' so those who did it can hide behind that. Any other moderation posts are usually semi sanctimonious lectures combining personal views with an abuse of position. I don't think the way things are here have ever been acceptable to be frank. I'm not going to single you out because your not alone in having done this. The fact that there is a rule where we aren't meant to discuss the moderators, in this particuarly situation means you have an advantage in any exchanges. You can discuss this as you wish, but we cannot without being bullied with petty infractions etc..

There is no system in the world where one gets to be the moderator of a discussion and take part in it whilst it not being a loaded situation. The blue background, upon first impression, gives greater importance to your point, and ultimately its hard to ignore particuarly when you state your opinion - usually of which is highly divisive and polarising.

So either moderate the discussion or be a part of it. Doing both is an abuse of power and I can't quite understand why Frontier think this is fair or reasonable. Particuarly when you seem content to bait, malign and poke fun at, and undermine how others play the game. Its just a shame I can't put you on ignore.

Bottom line here is frontier needs to staff the moderation of the forums themselves.. All this volunteering does, of which it seems to be a national pasttime, is do people out of paid work. ;)

Something I've never tried here, so honestly don't know. Is it possible to "land" (or just push) on a larger vessel thus altering is course so it faceplants into the ground?

I'm out in the rift at the moment, so if anyone feels like "redirecting" a corvette...

Feel free! (-:

As this is largely an in game reaction in protest of a real life decision made by actual real life persons, I've a few suggestions for real life things that might be better served spending quite so much time and effort campaigning about.:

Global Warming.
Western Foreign Policy.
Internet Freedom.
The X Factor.
Police and political corruption.
Corporate tax evasion.
Bob Geldof.
Child slavery.
Human Trafficking.
Economic injustice.
Justin Bieber.
Yeah, but you can't easily milk internet outrage out of those so, and they require you to physically do something and be responsible for your actions so internet outrage seekers do not do that.

No, every time FD make stupid design decisions, like terrible police response time and awful engineer base defenses, we get elevated levels of headery because they also refuse to have long-standing consequences for repeat offenders.
Who decides if they are stupid though? because where's the outrage against WoW and other games then? or do they get a pass because they are special? or maybe just maybe is this kind of reaction as childish as it sounds and completely without purpose or for that matter effect? punishing other players for what frontier is doing? seriously? to make them 'outraged' at frontier? what kind of twisted logic does it take to get to that result?

this is just childish behaviour using any justification it can.

Theoretically possible with a vessel of about similar size, but nothing prevents the ship from correcting its course and boosting to safety. So, not likely to happen in practice.

Ye can actually ignore them...just stop reading. Rep given.

On topic...play in solo around engineer bases...no blockades, no pvp and no stress...and no reason to come here complaining about it afterwards ^^

I can come up with a few more!

A: *stood on planet made of green marshmallow with giant fluffy purple dinosaurs roaming about* ... Bulb?

Q: How many Engineers does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Maybe one, maybe fifty, how lucky do you feel?

Q: How many Frontier Developers does it take to change a light bulb?
A: For the low price of $29.99 we're proud to present "Bulb access!", giving you exclusive access to test our new bulbs ahead of next season's bulb fitting!

NMS-player asks: how many carbon do I need?
Then starts to repair life support, recharges the multi-tool, then again the life support, gets confused why throwing carbon and plutonium at the light bulb doesn't fix it

Dear gods! I knew the UK economy was in shambles, but didn't know it was so bad that volunteers are putting people out of work!

I think this should have been the real issue of the Brexit campaign, not about illegal immigrants! Down with volunteers! :D

Ahem... ok, getting very silly and very off-topic.

Unless... we can somehow link PvPers attacking people with the decline of the UK economy. Come on guys, i know someone can make the link! Don't go dissapointing me!
