I'm talking about the jumps you'd need "stardreamer" sleep for. From the books I think. But like i edited into my post, the technology in the books and previous games are no longer canon.
Following Michael Brookes' comments, I've decided to leave searching the area between Merope and the UA shell, and went to search Hyades Sector AB-W b2-2. Why? Because that's the only inhabited system (AFAIK) inside the UA shell. My initial suspicions were right: since the system's inhabited, a wide range of SS-es spawn, but UA-bearing Anomalies do also appear. Within half an hour, I found two, out of 15 signal sources in total.
If nothing else, this also makes the system a pretty good place to farm UA-s for Palin, as you can get a bunch of other materials too. Just be prepared for Federal and pirate interdictions.
Also, if whoever built the Unknown Artefacts hadn't known where the humans live, they do know it now.

I passed an USS, one jump before NYEAJAAE OY-Z D18 heading back to the bubble. Before I could abort I had traveled ~39-40 LY.
The image of the unknown probe sound has 4 inner symbols; You are here (line), Away from here (curve), Galactic center (two curves), and Away from galactic center (two lines). There are also 4 outer symbols; the bottom pair is two steps along the x axis, and the upper left corner is one step up the y axis, which is the angle to travel to Jaques Station. The upper right symbol means a third of the way.
Is Jaques Station's location an accident? Could it have been guided there somehow? By something "other" than human?

But if you read back your posts carefully, they are very similar to thousands of posts of people teasing us they got the solution without telling. So many. Usually what noobs should do before posting is to read the front page to check what's there.
So please forgive me for the reply, I've read 80.000 posts so far, where 20% were similar to your, but honestly it was fun to write it.

Yesterday I visited Merope 5C
The Barnacles are restored and no Feds near and I thought I would see a Capital Class near the Ground
All 4 barnacles? I've never been there when they were all at the same state.
If they're in the same state since last thursday, 2 of them are ready, 2 of them are harvested.

I only ever visited the barnacle site who was first discovered on Merope 5C but this one is completely restored now. (-026.3496 -156.4044) I was there at night and it´s always a very scary experience ^^

has anyone else ever seen the giant imperial ship (maybe capital, certainly bigger than cutter) that has been "blown up from the inside out", with a load of rescue ships flying around it? I got that yesterday in a system surrounded by about 5 UA anomalies. Wondering if they're related?
