So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

He went the wrong way? no he didnt he had to drop out of hyperspace due to issues. but i dont get your point anyways :p

My point was, we'd all love a station in the region. Jaques should have gone towards the rift, would have given us all a base to work from...

ie - he wen the wrong way (for the Rift crowd, anyway).

Z...

Just as a general information. I am currently pretty much Bubble bound for a time being - my play time is limited atm cause of my work schedule, so if anyone out there has a hunch about checking anything in the Buble, that The Voices told him might be important, feel free to let me know and i can do some preliminary investigation.

There is no harm in checking every possible hints and as I said I am pretty much forced to spent my time in the bubble anyway right now. Remember The darkness of the Rift whispers to you, so embrace the voices! ... .. Unless they are the whispers of the elder gods, then probably don't embrace them as their tentacles tent to be all slimy

Today I was browsing EDSM, looking at the rift, H&S nebula, EAFOTS sector, and noticed the POI that were entered for the CoR. When clicking into the details, I noticed that they were entered by CMDR Salomé herself - and confirmed by the CoR that they have received a mission for a specific patrol route. They are to patrol watching for anything strange coming out of the rift, this gave me an idea. So this leads me to believe the patrol route is setup in a way that is to be sure to catch whatever it may be, coming back out of the rift, so in a way in lessens the searchable areas of the rift not much, but I think gives reason to prioritize certain areas over others.

The listening-posts and the patrol-route have indeed been scouted by CMDR Salomé and it is intriguing that they already have crossed the EAFOTS-Sector in April. Now EAFOTS has been named as a place to search specifically. While this sector is huge it definitely lessens the searchable areas of the rift. Also the EAFOTS-Sector reaches towards the rift and the "stars begin thinning out" on the south-side with the MYOIDEE-Sector having significantly lower star density.
The sector is still insanely huge but the more commanders search it, the more probable it is that we find something. Running deeper into the rift just distracts us from EAFOTS. Thats my personal opinion - no official CoR statement.

Well, we just got a clue that originated from Tionisla. And it's sending us towards EAFOTS or beyond. Now with the next big patch the actual Tionisla graveyard will be added, so perhaps another clue might come from there, but wouldn't that be kind of backtracking story-wise? I mean, they already sent us to EAFOTS.
At the moment I'm inclined to assume Tionisla has served it's purpose regarding this particular story.
I might be completely wrong though of course, because you know what they say about assumptions... ;)

I think FD said Tionisla graveyard would be implemented after 2.2, not in it.
But I could be wrong.

My pilot is suffering from space solitude fever. His ASP is powered down and parked right smack in the middle of the rift, halfway to the last 'arm'. I'll let him hibernate a couple of days before continuing.
I'm really intrigued by this mystery and it's been a lot of fun following this thread. See ya soon, cmdrs! o7

Anywhere near Graeh sector? May be worth checking out if you are

Forgive me for not reading through every page and link for this mammoth topic, but is there any coordination / list of target systems to be scanned by CMDRs? I'm prepping for an exploration jaunt, and Formidine is as good a destination as any for me.

I've seen the list of links and so on on Page 1, but which one is the main one I need to be looking at?

There is more to giving out ANY info on a regular basis than just spoon feeding clues. The problem with "mysteries" that run long in games like this is player attention span and player retention. I would prefer MORE mysteries in the E:D world than less. And let's be fair, the storyline has moved at what best can be described as a glacial pace so far.

But if none of those mysteries resolve, then it gets frustrating. I'm a pretty hard core player, I don't get frustrated from stuff like this. Buuut, a player who averages 20-30 hours a week does NOT represent a games typical player base.

Well the great thing about this is that you can dip in & out as you wish until it's solved by someone. It's not the finding, it's the taking part that's enjoyable. And I don't mind the glacial pace, that just means we haven't addressed it properly- it's been in-game from the outset so if it was obvious we'd have found it & the fun would be over. So I would heartily agree with the need for more puzzles like this. Otherwise once the UP and Rift puzzles are solved then we have nothing to keep us going apart from the basic game mechanics; nice as they are it's not that aspect that I have found enjoyable (especially with the constant interdictions since 2.1 hit).

Has anyone ever had a mission just come through to comms? Sort of like a tip off mission comes through - "incoming message" - but not a tip off mission? Screenshot below, received whilst in one of the rings of Tionisla 3, closest to Coulter city.

Yes. I had a surface raid mission pop up a couple of weeks ago in the bubble, and I've had one arrive yesterday...smuggling job, I think.

I'm speaking for myself here of course, but I for one would really appreciate it if you could ease back on the berating of other peoples' input here.

I genuinely don't see how that was berating other people's input. Yes I have berated some things, but only where they are things that are 100% incorrect like people misquoting the book or things that are just plain stupid as these just dilute the whole effort.

But whatever. I think I will stop contributing and offering input from here.

That would require organisation!

I think a few people have spreadsheets of systems that they are checking off, but I don't know if there is any form of centralised list, or coordinated search effort.
