Accepted CMDR though I do think a couple of thousand light year bump, with a small risk of setback might add a bit of risk reward game play. Also the slight chance of a huge random leap may be fun.
Heck, no.]
No 'space teleporting', please!

Dear mother of god NO.
NO RNG. BAD. BAD RNG. NO RNG. DO NOT WANT. EVER.
The day jumping in Elite gets affected by RNG, I quit. Period. I don't care how much time, energy, effort, emotion, and pleasure I've sunk into this game, if Elite ever becomes RNG simulator, I'm out.
Why exactly? I've covered a lot of LYs with my exploration Anaconda with out even trying to over the last week and a half with minimal game time. Watering down the game is going to ruin it over time.
Yeah, imagine exploring space and being surprised by something that wasn't fixed, static and completely under your control. Who'd want that?
Not me. After years playing (and slowly realizing my folly thereof) games that think "random" is the name of the day and the height of pleasure, I cannot and will not ever believe that "random " is "fun".
One more point I want to make.
Does anybody remember how USS's used to be before 2.1?
You know, those random events that took up massive amounts of time, where we had *no* inkling what would be contained within the instance, even if we wanted to or needed to for a particular objective, and by and large felt so pointless that the vast majority of players intentionally ignored them?
Everybody hated that, universally. And everybody I've seen has been grateful for how they were changed in 2.1.
Now you want to re-apply that to hyperspace jumps?
I repeat: NO.

And God bless you for it.I think it could encite a little excitement into long space travel, that's all...
