To all you player groups UA bombing places like Robigo and Sothis...

I hope you take another vacation because the one being intolerant of other legitimate player activity aren't those UA bombing, it's those that demean others by injecting their own sense of morality and preference.

I couldn't agree more. A quick scroll back through this thread as well as the one that started the ball rolling reveals the only people being intolerant (and in many cases calling names) are the haulers themselves. The bomber(s) have been more or less respectful during this discussion.

lol. form a group and deliver meta-alloys and stop whining. They aren't stopping fun; they're removing a credit bonanza from a system by the only ingame mechanisim left; because all the rest are rendered irrelevant by solo.

If it's worth something, you'll protect it. If it's just a mindless cash grab whilst the going is good, then it'll be a lot of whining and complaining and no action.

So which is it?

edit: after three pages I have my answer. Endless complaint, zero action.

Delivering meta alloys is 1) Expensive. 2) It takes far more meta alloys to unscrew a station than to screw it. (To the tune of, I've tried to fix stations before. After countless MAs delivered, the station was still down.) And its repetitive and grindy. which is exactly the gameplay I was running to sothis to AVOID.

Right now, I have at best, a tiny handful of hours a week to put into Elite. I haven't touched it for a few months, because of, hey...real life. Shame on me for getting excited by the gamescom footage, and deciding to store up some credits for maybe a beluga.

Hey, screw me right? Well, screw you too.

So you have all the time in the world to make cash hand over fist, but not to protect that income stream? Is that correct? And that endlessly running the milk basket isn't grindy, but running to protect it is?

I'm just attempting to understand why frontier have to remove the only lever left, because it's problematic spending time to protect an income stream, but not a problem at all to benefit from it.

That's a bit confusing.

Did it occur to anyone that organising a player initive to bring MAs, with some sort of agreed compensation might rapidly resolve as other commanders join in to assist? That maybe you don't have to do it all yourself?

Or is it easier to just complain at frontier. That's a shame. I reckon a few might have answered the call. I mean here's a reason to actually go to sothis beyond a cash grab.

I never UA bombed anything but UA bombers are legitimate regardless, just going to throw this out there before someone randomly accuse me of being a bomber, this is the internet after all.

And indeed.

There are other ways to make credits. Lots and lots of credits flying around in the bubble.

I mean hell, I just made 3M on a mining run and I quit when I still had 25% of my limpets left. There are wars to fight, colonies to supply, weapons of mass destruction to recover, people to assassinate, bases to bomb. There's all kinds of stuff you can do to make money in this game. It may not be as fast a track as Sothis/Ceos, but it's out there.

For real... the profits made from ceos and sothis are more than enough to buy some Meta-Alloy and not have it hurt your pockets. I've been including getting and delivering Meta-Alloy in my loops to ceos/sothis and back. 200 tons delivered so far. I'll be back with more for ceos later. I know of at least several other players who have started Meta-Alloy deliveries as well, so join the club or shut up dude.

First off - IT'S NOT GREIFING and FD shouldn't REMOVE IT.

Would putting the system in lockdown be an exploit - NO - so Neither is this.

You know what is an exploit though - stacking missions by game logging to Open, Solo, Private - in order to get the missions you WANT - that SURE IS AN EXPLOIT.

So booo frickin hoo - your exploit got a wrench thrown in. So you want it back?! You want to continue your game greifing by making money quick/easy at Sothis and Robigo - then DEFEND THE SYSTEM by supporting with Meta-Alloys. How about you actually work for it?

If you don't defend it and it gets shut down, well that's your problem. Quit crying about your exploit getting legitimetly shut down by some players.

GOOD FOR YOU UA BOMBERS!!!! Shutting down what FD is afraid to do - and I don't blame them, look at these crybabies!!!! [smile] [up]

Uhm, kid modeswitching is what you do when you collect your UAs, right? :D And not everyone does this in Ceos/Sothis because it's not immersive.

The game mechanic is here to stay.
Terrorist is a legitimate career path.
I'd like to see a better incentive other than just to annoy people, because that's what it feels like.
What exactly are the benefits for a UA bomber?

Yup, it is part of how players can affect the BGS. As for the benefits? It has a massive effect on the BGS (for that system)...

That changes how the game dynamics in that system work.

It's two oppsoing sides & one side failed to protect their interests.

So, like... what service are available out there? Anybody? Bueller?

If folks can schleep hundreds and hundreds of tons of MAs to Jaques 22kly from the bubble, then surely Sothis isn't a big ask?

There are many who play elite not for credit, but for the reason of doing something like hauling MAs, or protecting MA runners. I mean some already seem to be doing that? Good on em.

Back when I was a wee lad, we had to make our credits the hard way...

Anyway, I got no idea what this is all about. Not been to Robigo or Sothis since... hmm... a good while ago. Why should I? It is along way for one thing, and for another, I am Elitist (hehe, pun intended) enough to not need the cash. Well, I could need some of the cash for the upcoming Beluga, but not that much that I bother going several hundreds of lightyears from my wonderful home of Anlave! There are tons of credits to made anywhere. I can spend an afternoon within 30LY of Anlave and make an easy 20-30 million. It requires Horizons, and only tappable once a week until it resets, but still...

Ok again. I know its a kind of taboo but imagine the situation in RL.

Noone would say about terrorists: "They're cool, its a life mechanic, if you can do it, just do it, I like the dynamics of society."

They ARE terrorists (they have "reasons" too, don't they?). Their reasons are irrelevant, they'd always find "reasons" for what they want to do. However it's asocial behaviour.

It's not my problem if you mix up money with skill and it's not my problem if you played 1000 hours and only earned 10 mcr if you chose so.

The money of the Ceos truckers doesn't affect you, why do you try to affect them. The problem is just in your minds.

Can we please close this xth thread?
