Also Windows 8 is the only way to get the lastest version of DirectX (11.2) - I don't know if Elite Dangerous takes particular advantage of this, though!

Its coming along very nicely indeed. Just one thing though and I know I am nitpicking a bit but its just something that annoys me for some reason and its when people keep calling it a game. Its nowhere near being called a game yet. Its still a beta and has a lot more content and bug fixes to go before it can be called a game. Ok rant over

I agree, right now we are just testing what WILL be a game. It's still fun in it's own right, but the final product will be oh so sweet.
