Also I'm like 99% sure this event has more to do with the rift than directly with any aliens. It's all related, but I don't think we're getting a thargoid encounter out of this hunt

I don't know, maybe some people need to adjust their expectations a little. What exactly did you think was going to happen?
From the clues alone it was pretty obvious programmed NPC's or ships controlled by FDev were to show up.

That said, it is possible we misinterpreted the clue. He was last seen in Pic Tok. He returns each day at 3pm. Maybe he returns to his home system. we know the explorer 'hangs around apademak". This whole hunt is organized so poorly. 99% of the participants have nothing to do. The characters should have been persistent drops that everyone could interact with

I completely agree with you here,

I only saw a glimpse of Kohl in Cail at the beginning and besides that I've just been following along. Finally gave up before this Dillon appearance in Apademak which is really frustrating because we were looking aroun Tok for ages.

The presentation of the mystery is fine. The problem is the execution for many people.

So while I get that people get annoyed at shooting all over the galaxy on the merest hint from some screenshot or decoded clue or whatever, remember: nobody's *forcing* you to do it. This isn't like one of those crap film tie-in games where you're forced to do the minecart-on-rails level, it's more like reading American Psycho, where you can choose to skip the chapter on Genesis. It's just in this case, you leave it up to others to do it in order to keep your sanity.

Know your limits!

Gotta say I like having stuff to do.

Like these are the "proper" ED mission if you ask me. Sure they may lead nowhere but it's much more engaging than go fetch me a black box or something.

Fdev on this hunt = unable to organise a sock drawer
no this is the players fault. this thread is total chaos since 50 pages. i dont think that anyone at fd thought that everybody in here would go supernuts. the hunt is actually quite easy but instead of organising, this thread looks like a bunch of unsupervised teenagers with unlimited supplies of coffee. i am apalled.

Just a heads up, nothing in Chertan as of now, bunch of CMDRs at McMullen Vision, you can sell the tobacco at the market but that's it, no emergency cg, no Dillon. Going to hang around a bit and see if that changes

The mention of planetary coordinates and "alien ruins" hinted in GC interviews leads me to believe that those folks found something like that.

I don't know about you but that makes my inner (and outer) Indy excited.

I disagree, people are very confused about what to do, where to go, what progress is being made. It's not well presented in-game at all. Many people want something cool with aliens... instead we get this....

A friend and I tried to organise for the Pic Tok time but it turned out it wasn't there anyway. We feel burned that the mystery isn't following its own thread.

Shame the mod who edited my post doesnt have a complete grasp of the english language. that term is acceptable here in the uk and in cambridge. ask mr braben its not a swear word or a slang term.
