Hm.. i read the hints again "One of my Friends always lies, the system has a single m-Class Star" from Kohl
"Rocky planet at Latitude 34 near a binary pulsars"

if i combine it correctly, it should be a rocky planet at latitude 34 near a single m-Class star"

This, perhaps dillon is the liar and we aren't looking for pulsars but rather the single class m with the rocky body and so on and so forth....

Yeah let me just narrow it down to my list of M class star system with rocky planets. Only about 10,000,000,000 or so to search I guess

What about:
"One of my Friends always lies, the system has a single m-Class Star"
"Rocky planet at Latitude 34 near a binary x"

Where x can be a binary planetoid pair, earthlike.
It must be within the range of the three systems called out:
CAIL / Apademak / Tic Pok

What is the distance between those?
Is there a constant?

Can the next person to encounter dillon or any of them please disable their ship - don't kill it - just slag it's drives - then see how well they riddle.

no this is the players fault. this thread is total chaos since 50 pages. i dont think that anyone at fd thought that everybody in here would go supernuts. the hunt is actually quite easy but instead of organising, this thread looks like a bunch of unsupervised teenagers with unlimited supplies of coffee. i am apalled.

It's not that bad - a few disgruntled people who will either calm down or walk away for a bit. We'll get there.

And FD knew the thread would go nuts - they know this part of the community pretty well by now.

Everyone keep your head or go listen to some whale song for a bit!

This is simply terrible. What a horrible reveal. Even if they reveal the secret to the universe. Fish and tobacco, with no where to deliver it is an abjectly horrible way to bring it about.

BOOOOOOOOOO!

This is a perfect example of how to not bring anything to the discussion or scientific progress. Along with the other people whining about this or that, it's a game, get over yourselves and have fun with what we have (which is a product of a lot of peoples hard work)

Anyways...

Has anyone brought tobacco to Mcmullen Vision yet to confirm if trading to the station triggers anything? I'll haul a few tons out there if noone has yet.

As somebody who is disgruntled the thread is fine. I just need a break. Too many people stick around and go 'rar rar rar'. It's unhealthy.

Which Mcmullen Vision?
Closest does not have a black market (tobacco illegal)

So, from an outside perspective, here's a quick summary:
1. FDev starts giving hints in the form of coded messages the day before the hunt...on a Saturday, when people aren't expecting it, leaving a lot of people out of the process
2. CMDRs follow the hints to the primary system and hang out at 10 am. Maybe 5 CMDRs actually get to see the "NPC CMDR" that gives the new clues, and he is subsequently killed by a known KOS-player.
3. FDev scrambles to add a CG that gives a new coded message. The solution leads to a system and time that hasn't been mentioned before
4. FDev confirms that parts of "The Hunt" is Open only. That means 1000s of CMDRs who for one reason or another do not play in Open, have missed out on the opportunity of getting the first clue.
5. The time arrives at the system given in the CG-message, but nothing happens. Reports start trickling in about others finding the "NPC CMDR" in another system
6. The"NPC CMDR" gives a couple of clues, which includes non-existant systems in ED (pulsars), ambiguous information (station name that appears several places), and non-accomplishable tasks (give tobacco where he isn't, and can't be sold because it's illegal and has no Black Market)
7. Now everyone is waiting for 21:00 so they can maybe be lucky enough to be in the same instance as an "NPC CMDR" who most likely will give more non-helpful hints.

That sum it up?

Like I said earlier, I was following the events here in the thread to see if I should join at nine. The answer is a resounding; "Why on earth would I bother?"

Sorry FDev. This whole "Hunt" has been a letdown from the first encoded message sent out yesterday. You have some work to do :(

How do we search for the pulsars using the in game galaxy map?

I'm looking for PSR J0737-3039, but if I enter something like 'PSR J0' into the galaxy map I get sent to somewhere 10,000ly below the galactic plane.

Kohl is the liar?

But is Dillon a liar? Because I can't find Dillon at any McMullen Vision. But then if Dillon was the liar then what Kohl said must be true... except no one turned up in Pic Tok... This is so confusing.

Which one? Visited HR 1812 but did not sell any. 1t sold at Chertan to no effect.

It does help answer what "the system" he's referring to is.

Though m-class star with a rocky planet doesn't narrow it down much... M-class is the most common star in the galaxy by a huge margin. At least binary pulsars would give is a *really* narrow search area...

from a tin foil perspective this seems a bit, stretched have they (fdev) missed something out? or has the npcs indeed been intercepted and killed making it impossible for us to complete this event, perhaps in the future make them un targetable or infinite hp...theres always one idiot who wants to spoil the gameplay for others..
