*Lets out the hugest SIGH!*...

What an utter waste of MY time waiting for today, the 28th, and the arrival of the so called big mystery :/
For a starters, I play in SOLO. The PATHETIC reveal was open play ONLY! Why FD bother to tease and hint us ALL, and then decide upon using a live commander/actor/open play ONLY event to further along said mystery, without so much as a hint along the way to there being an open play ONLY requirement in the first place, really leaves a nasty taste and a feeling of utter disappointment, of my time and patience. If I hadn't read about it on other posts here in the forum, I would have sat all day in solo wondering wha.?????

Here is the irony....having read about the "reveal" and it's further happenings (read fish+tobacco+what now?), I feel kind of lucky to have missed out on the even further disappointment and lack of anything "Alien", anyway :/
Please FD, stop dragging your heals and give us the Aliens, and the sorely needed new interaction the game is crying out for.

Technical limitations and its the only fair mode for this to happen, I don't know why you were expecting something else when you were going to have to interact with FD acting as NPCs. They cant be in thousands of peoples solo mode game all at once.

I can't count the threads anymore where people complain about the same fact.
Why can't you just simple use an existing thread? Why creating another same duplicate?

When was this said before today ? .... it's not a dig BTW just a serious question as I must have missed it.

Yes, FD dropped the ball massively. Called it some days ago, it's kinda going how I expected it. :( Let's hope it does actually go somewhere remotely not so... meh.

They should have put that little snippet in the binary code ... the message should have read.

Yes, it would have been nice for them to say ahead of time that it would be Open only.

I know, it would 'break mah emmershun', but at least people would know. I think they did it that way with the Titan X giveaway ages ago, and with the gems CG.

Bottom line is they are adding more and more 'open only' or 'more benefits when done in open' stuff, and people just need to get used to it.

I don't see how it could break someones immersion ... seeing as the binary clues were on interviews with David Braben .. out of game ..

Im seeing as this, we wont see the aliens we will get yet another puzzle telling us where they are as a build up to 2.2 when they are actually implemented. Anyone expecting them to appear today maybe disappointed, me im still on my way to Jaques and if I see an alien on the way I will take a shot and post on the forum about it but im not holding my breath :)

I had no idea there was something like a hunt going on. I read the announcement at the time and forgot it immediately. I don't care about this kind of Open multiplayer stuff to be honest.
I just want aliens in the game. So I will wait patiently for it to happen and let others 'hunt' for what will be revealed eventually anyway.

I was looking forward to this. what I was expecting was some alien wreck or an intresting hint.

But the gang playing a game at us just feels artificial and a waste of a great fictional universe.

Its not the worst thing to have happened in fiction , nor even the worst that happened in elite's fiction (that would be the master chefs and rise to power)

I am still intrested in this narative , but it being a gang that wants to play a game... just feels off
But I reserve my judgement until this is over , maybe it will all make sense afterall FD did say someone is making a new war happen , maybe its this gang or something
