It had no bearing, because he had already said his piece. The word was already out there. They had no effect on play.
Had no effect for those that participate in the forums/Reddit. How many Cmdr who don't use those mediums wasted a day?

Nevertheless, the one way you can guarantee you won't see a damn thing is by playing solo.
Why's that then ? A perfectly valid option by FD, but be damned if you pick it ?!
I agree that you can't make it perfect, I mean I am in the Middle East, but you could make it a little more encompassing ... They have had a long time to prepare for this![]()
Because common sense. The solo server(s) guarantee you an instance by yourself.
BY YOURSELF.
So, by extension, you are in an instance by yourself.
You chose a game mode which guarantees you will be by yourself. Is this making sense to anyone but me? Or is my logic only understandable by myself?
I thought all modes were treated as equal.. Maybe Frontier should just throw everyone in open and be done with it..... After upgrading the servers of course.
Flimley
I do realize the sense of frustration. In Solo mode I spent an hour at the Nav Beacon as I figured that's where the contact might make arrival, and I'd follow his wake out from there and track him to a destination. But no show of course, so I hit SuperCruise to look for while and again nothing. I guessed wrong all the way around. Way before I ever docked and loaded the forums it was all over.
This is just off the cuff.
- Follow the clues to some random station and accept a "special" mission
- NPC created that spawns at a certain time and place. Doesn't matter what mode you're in; instance or what not .. as long as you're online and have the mission you see "him"
- Depending upon what you do the game records it. Some will play the anarchy card and blow him up; some like you would have followed; etc.
- FD count up who did what and the outcome is determined by the community.
Inclusive & fair.
Nevermind - I am sure FD have more parts to this to come and there will be other "events"![]()
Chris Roberts had a goal of 2 million dollars to fund his game. He got 90 million.
We still don't have a game.
Chris Roberts can kiss our collective game playing @sses, because there is one thing we are doing that the Star Citizen fanbois are not:
Playing a Game!![]()
you might want to stop evading the forum swear filters ..
If the majority of your "interesting" and "engaging" content needs to be interacted with offline (I.e. solving puzzles) then it might be time to take a good, hard look at how you intend to keep players returning to your game. You can only dangle the carrot for so long. People paid for a video game to be entertained by that video game. The fact that so much if EDs "meaningful" experiences lay outside if the game, this far into its release, is sad.
If I wanted to spend my free time solving puzzle after puzzle, FD, I'd have bought a $3 puzzle book. At this point, it just looks like you're running out of ways to fly top cover for EDs lack of meaningful content.
What? The event hinted at at Gamescom is already over? I didn't even know it had started.... daFAQ?
Can someone tell me who or what is 'SDC'? Ta.

Truth is the destruction of the ship that carried the message should have removed that clue from the game .. that would be "Emergent Gameplay"
