Yet having played Elite games since 1984.. you are telling me to sod off because I don't want to be spending my time solving endless cryptic puzzles that aren't even part of the game play? This is likely one the most highly anticipated encounters in gaming history and its not for every player? Are you for real? :O
No, I am absolutely NOT saying that at all.
I am saying that if the puzzles do not interest you, don't worry about them, but let other people enjoy them. I don't PvP, but I'm not telling PvP people to go away. Quite the opposite; The game is better for inclusion of all play styles, even the ones that I don't like.
Ok: You aren't talking general play, but you feel specifically excluded from this single event because *some elements of it* a puzzle? Some elements are also PvP, and it looks like trade CGs, too. I don't think the 'reveal' [if it is that. I think you may be over-egging it. Who said it's Thargoids anyway, even!] can be limited to only including the types of play that all of us enjoy, so instead widening the scope so that it includes elements that all of us enjoy and get involved for a small part of is a good thing.
How would you unfold the event, then? With a sweeping vista of events which includes all the styles of play *you* want, but no puzzles? See, it doesn't work: You are then telling *me* to go away because I might not like something you might want to see included in the unfolding events, and we are back to square one.

All the "mystery" is just becouse theres nothing in the game i mean aliens. I want a video game and not codes to discower thax to google. Its funny that we need to look for aliens on a forum/google and not in game. Only no-life guys are after that coded mesages. Why you FD need to let as know thats something is up there on a forum and not in a game ? Its wrong game designe.
You will have your aliens in your video game when FD put them in, which is when they have told us they will be going in, which will be in a point release, it seems.
These puzzles are not delaying that. They are a precursor. They are absolutely not impinging on you in any way. There is zero impact on you by having the pre-release lead in used in a way that puzzle-solvers enjoy. If it wasn't puzzles it would be more teaser trailers, which don't add to gameplay, either.
And the puzzles have been in-game [which includes Galnet], not posted on forums. It's perfectly good game design and some of the puzzles have been devilishly ingenious.
Oh, but I'm a no-life because I enjoy puzzles. Ok. :|
