So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

the discovery wont require anything you couldn't have gotten at the time of gamma release. So jumponium wont be needed assuming you have a jump range of 25-30ly.

I made a thread in Support about my Nav Panel, hopefully I'll get a definitive answer there. I saw some of it running single card but it appears more prominent in SLI, of course I only covered mostly the same sector in single card and have been venturing a bit away since I re-enabled SLI. I also updated my graphics drivers today and the behavior persists. I can't rule out it isn't SLI bug or something very unique to my system. Hopefully Support will tell me since I spent a lot of time trying to figure out if it is hardware/software/gremlins/etc over the past few days.

Here are the latest screenshots I took just a few ago when I jumped into a new system (plus a screenshot from a system right after I jumped to again at the bottom). I'm still within the area, and some systems show this while others don't so... I dunno. I am at a loss here.

It's kinda similar to weirdness I've seen, just mine was with items on the left side menu appearing on top of each other.

This was pretty interesting. I jumped into this system and the Nav Panel did the same thing the first time, except all of the randomly placed "Unexplored" were green this time one was green and the rest blue. I wasn't prepared for it the first time, so missed it, but jumped two stars away to a nice bright B0 star and came back just to see if it would happen again and it did. Not exactly the same way, but pretty much. There's also a very large star few jumps prior as well that I added at the end, unrelated of course.

The odd thing is this is just a M0 star, albeit very active but there are other A stars and the B0 star just two jumps away and the huge giant nearby as well. Maybe this is intended behavior for the Rift in general if you get far enough in. Beats me, could still just be a bug for me.

e: Damn, the images are out of order. So it started with the screenshot that has location in green, then destination in green, just the unexplored with green marker to the right, green unexplored, then blue unexplored below it followed by the second blue unexplored below the first one then back to the unexplored with green marker to the right. I added #s to them for their titles.

ee: Wrong "giant" star loaded to the above imgur. This is the giant: http://imgur.com/a/bnA3c

Wow
Two giant blue balls (there's also a third orbiting nearby)

We have a series of events scheduled for the coming days and weeks (depending on how the main story unfolds) - We're waiting for some Galnet articles to be given the green light and published first though.

I knew you were on it. Thanks for the heads up.[up]

Third time's the charm?
Greetings commanders.
Brief Intro. I've been playing since GPP on XB1 but never followed the lore or any of the in game happenings until recently (UP breakthrough). I've been trying to keep up with what I can and have taken an interest in the Formidine Rift. After reading through a good bit of info on the front page and scattered about, I've come up with a plausibility for where or...what the Rift might be.
My theory might not exactly coincide with some of the more recent 'clues' or news or what not that have been put out there. However, that's why it's a theory.
I'll post my reasoning behind what I'm proposing in a few hours as this is my third time trying to post and that first I got timed out of my account (as I'm traveling past the Heart/Soul Nebulae), the second forced me to refresh the page, and here we are.

What if "we've" been taking the 'location' of the Formidine Rift too literally?
Perhaps the Rift isn't any one specific point but maybe a general area (along the RR line?), that takes work and dedication to get to, that offers some sort of 'state of mind' change. It could be unique to each person and no two people will have the exact same "Formidine Rift".
Maybe the Rift that is in game (if it is a specific area) is exclusive to the old lady. So if we saw it we wouldn't know it cause it's unique to her.

Again there's reasoning behind this it's not just a blind theory. It could be wrong and likely is, but you never know unless you try.
I'll post the reasoning in a few hours after I've had some sleep.

Welcome!

I don't know if this has been stated but :
the Cerberus plague originated from HART (almost heart / Cor in latin) station, in BAST system (short name of Bastet, an Egyptian goddess of war, who, later in the history of egypt, was merged with Sekhmet, who in turn appears to have been both a war goddess and a HEALING goddess )

AND ALSO : the only planet in this system is a terraformed planet...

it is approximately 37 A.L from RR Line (in case it can be relevant)

It can be just reference-playing, but at least i think it gives even more credit to the "terraformed planet are linked to that mystery" theory.

Well noted, thanks. That's a lovely snippet of flavour. I shall add it to the sheet. (question - you mean BAST has one terraformed right?)

Yes. In Bast there is one star, one terraformed planet and one station orbiting it. That's all.

I ll add that prof. Pallin got infected with cerberus plague when he was kidnapped but the only treatment he declared receiving was a sedative. So he might have catched it somewhere...
I wonder if there are links between the plague and other recorded events.

One of the hints Drew gave is that we need to find the "core" of the problem. What if that's a play on words, and we're looking for EAFOTS CO-R ??? systems. Quickly plotting them it seems there are 4 or 5 systems that match that description, including one extremely high on the galactic plane (where the stars would be far apart, EAFOTS CO-R c5-0).

I'm currently plotting a route to the others, but I don't think I'll be able to reach that high one without farming a lot of jumponium first.

I think I may have tried this already. I may have mentioned it here, earlier in the thread.

eafots co-r c5 has been tagged by erimus. g class star with a couple of gas giants and a water world (with ammonia atm).
