Enemy inside the gates, Frontier please rethink this

Then maybe I misunderstood the "i raise your..." phrase. Anyway, strage comment in such a heated discussion.

Well, Brett should correct me if I am wrong, but I can imagine FD might find it difficult to take all these 'heated discussions' as seriously 24/7 as some here do, and occassionally place a lighthearted comment. Remember, this is not the One Big Debate, we've been having Super Important Stuff topics every week or two, with loads of people saying they'd quit ED unless this or that etc and all manner of insane hyperbole. In this OP alone Ziljan seriously emphesized it would have been totally fine if they placed EGP anywhere randomly in the galaxy. Can we expect FD to take such silly notions seriously? We just came out the 'instant transfer Hate', which followed the 'Engineering Hate'. And thats just the stuff since the latest patch! The pic of Jypson above your post really sums it up. FD reads the forums, they do respond (as did Zac in this topic way before Brett), but sometimes we really need to take a step back for a second. :)

I didn't read the whole thread and I am not that invested in this story, but seeing it on the front page of the General Discussion, the most active part of the forums, and seeing the dev post icon on it, I clicked it expecting to read a sensible post from a FDEV employee on the matter.

And lo and behold there's a quote in huge letters followed by a dev post I can't even read.

I'm all for fun and jokes on the forum, but the first dev post on a topic which is quite sensitive to some people I imagine, maybe should be worded in a way to calm spirits down, not aggravate people.

But they have won it by in-game mechanics. They fought in a big six-way battle (twice!) for this area of space to take it, and won decisively. That's "win the preparation war", "win the expansion". In PP terms they've fought harder for these systems than any other PP expansion ever.
That's not true at all...there was no fighting for Kpaniya, there was fighting to be a power. And EGP have their own faction's base. If this was the case, why go after the third place group? Diamond Frogs are in 63 G. Capricorni and they're not losing it to EGP. Other factions in DG is not being affected, only SEPP home base in Eleu.

Euryale is the main system for EG Pilots. Why isn't that in this list of systems being given to them to establish a power?

The 'official response' is on the first of the official topic on it. :) Btw, no idea you could click that icon! By god, I've spend so much time browsing through dozens of pages so many times to find some kind of official response, thanks! :p

That was explained by Zac in the quote I gave you.

Well, we disagree that it should be here and have a right to air our opinion. If you disagree, feel free to ignore us. Knowing how PP works, and that EGP would be incentivized to flip government types from democracy to dictatorships in order to keep their PP upkeep costs low, we feel we're basically going to become an footnote in the rise of EGP's power.

Like I've said, consider me in this situation just your average forumite who doesn't go to the forbidden dark PP area, doesn't necessarily follow all the dev posts, just sticks to the General Discussion mainstream stuff, and in this particular case, sees a juicy controversial topic and a dev icon (uuu shiny!).

And then clicks it expecting to see a dev in mighty action defusing the situation and being sensible to arguments brought by both sides.

Except that wasn't the case.

But Zac is clearly wrong when he states

Remember that your faction and the growth of it is no more effected then any other power perpping and expanding into those systems. Just because a power is being added doesn't mean the death of SEPP.

He is wrong because this is a power driven by a large group of humans with a small starting area just comprising SEPP completly.

Well, we disagree that it should be here and have a right to air our opinion. If you disagree, feel free to ignore us.

Everyone has the right to voice every opinion, even those who disagree with you. Anyway, there is a difference between saying "I disagree with the reason provided." and just repeating the question as if the question was being ignored. Also, its a stance that totally removes the moral high-ground SEPP claims to have. If a SEPP cmdr said "I hope we can find a way for the winners of the DGs to be added as a power without upsetting other powers or factions" thats one thing. But you and some others are basically just saying "why not just move this problem to some other faction/power, I'm cool with it as long as its not on my doorstep".

Unfortunatly I dont think that it was *explained* in the post from Zac why the power-sphere of EG Pilots can not be set in existing powerplay-spheres. It was just sayed that it won't be done. Actually Euryales is in a corner where several powers are bordering - if all bordering powers would take a cut of theire teritorry Euryiales Gaia could well prosper within the power-bubbel and close to theire point of origin.

Also I miss an explanation why there still is no collaps-mechanic for powerplay powers.

Been away from game for a couple months but still reading forums....going to add this to my reasons for probably never coming back. Why bother saying anything at all? Frustrated beyond belief at a game with enormous potential that keeps tripping over the <people> in charge of it.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
So, after 30 pages, the only official response from FD is mocking someone.

Ok, I just ran out of sarcasm, so I leave it at that.

Brett is not a game designer or a dev, and it was all in good fun. Sometimes you just wanna have some fun, y'know? :) C'mon, lighten up a little people!

I must admit I was surprised to see that the Dangerous Games winner doesn't appear to be having their power started in their player group home system? This would somehow seem disappointing to me, as a winner, if I had invested much play activity in the home system area. Even to have a new player Power Play bubble appear with an existing one (like some emerging, uprising power force) seems to make more sense. Perhaps even the best possible sense for a new "Rise to Power"?

If all future Dangerous Games power winners will also be placed in "non-power" systems, especially where that player group is (apparently?) not currently based or perhaps even active, maybe a serious wake up call for those independent player groups who wish to stay outside Power Play.

Going forward, perhaps the list of systems where the new Dangerous Games winner will be placed should be known up front, if their location will not be realistically placed where that player group has been active and growing in the past.

It's a busy thread, if I misunderstand any of the above... my apologies.

We have now two reactions of FDEV on this topic: Zacs early answer where he just shows his lack of knowledge and now here Bretts ignorance to the topic at all.

As a non antive speaker I can not express my disappointment properly.

I think I need a break from this all.

Nah, poking fun at large text. Humor is something that seems to be a lost art these days. :(

I've passed along this thread over to the powers that be to check into the issues given.
I hope they take into consideration, as has been repeated ad nauseum on the insta-ship tranfer threads, about them caving in to whiners on the forums.

Not my own personal sentiment, just relaying it.
