Horizons Another Ship Transfer Issue

Some signatures have ship names. What is the go with that?
Is it only in the sig?

Here is one for me that I dont bother to use

I don't understand how this problem has occurred for you. If it is persistent (try buying cheap ships, such as a Sidewinder and Hauler, and store them at the same station to test this), then if confirmed, you will have to contact FD support - you shouldn't be seeing this limitation.

Thanks for your reply and to those above who have also said that more ships (up to 5 mentioned, what is the limit?) can be stored at any given stn. I must admit the last time I tried this was a while ago, long before patch 2.1 so this may have been fixed and I didn't know...

I'll try stacking a couple of ships (sideys to start with) at a station and try to figure out how to cycle through them to get the ship I want. I'm presuming that it's not as simple as selecting the ship from a menu knowing how EDs windows work.

Who have told you this?
I have 23 and later 24 ships stored in one station. As far as i know the max cap is 24 ;)

WOW That is a lot of ships! And thanks for the post. As already replied (above), old, probably outdated and now obviously incorrect info...

It is easy to select your stored ships from the tab menu, I cycle through it using the E key, or Q to go backwards. When you tab to your stored ships, you just cycle through them in the same way as if you were buying a new ship.

Then you have to get your cursor down to the ''Options" in order to swap your current ship for the selected stored ship. It works ok. Good luck, Commander ;)

I agree with the OP, more info on ship stats would be helpful. Some players have multiple builds of a particular ship that could get confusing.

ANOTHER ISSUE - Only Two ships can be at any given station at once, one in storage on the one you are currently flying...

At present you can only have two ships in one station. Try storing more and you run into problems of not being able to select the ship you want to use and usually have to sell one to access the other ship! Will this be addressed at the same time so that all locally stored ships are selectable from the shipyard menu? I have 5 ships but at present I have to store these in different stations (all with large landing pads!) to ensure I can switch between them. It's a headache, and I'd like to think it won't be made worse by this (very much wanted) feature.

Most likely your issue was that you had cargo in your current ship, and tried to transfer to a ship that didn't have cargo racks installed (or the necessary space for your current cargo). Which would be why you weren't able to access a ship.

Ok, So we will get ship transfer soon. It maybe instant or delayed. I can forsee another issue.

A example

I have two ships in a far away station. 1 has a modded weapon or module that I want to transfer. The problem is I can't remember which of the 2 ships has the unit & i don't want to transfer both ships or both modules.

At the moment the Shipyard gives you very little data on ships in via this menu. For example Remote ships have no data & even local ships have Core Modules like Sensors are just called Sensors with no class or other stats.
We have no ship name to go by.

My question is : Do we know if the ship stats are going to be improved here so we make the correct transfer choice ?

A sound and very reasonable request, one I hope the Devs will address as sensibly.
+1 for highlighting the issue.

Do you really have so many ships that you are not aware in which one you have which modules?
Is it really necessary for you to transfer a complete ship just to switch a module?
As far as we know, this can get REALLY expensive so better hold modules in the ship where they should be, and a module you use on more than one ship, hold it in the module storage.
Than you can transfer just the module so that it will get cheaper.

I'm hoping that i have it right in my mind that we will get module storage/transfer too.
Otherwise this advise is just crap :D

Unfortunately yes! At one level, I just hate to part with one that I have worked hard to configure how I want it, each ship fits into a specific niche so instead of having a top of the line all singing dancing single ship, I have quite a few variants of the main stream ships dotted all over that way for me at least allowed me to swop around a short notice dependant upon mood or need for the task at hand.
