Was enjoying the view at Farseer when someone treated me to some 1000mph flybys

500m/s? Pffffffh.... how about a supercruise canyon run!

(No, that is very cool. Getting more and more tempted by VR every day)

Huh? How can you be in orbital cruise down in a canyon? Was that a bug?

drkaii, quick question ... so when you're using the Oculus I gather headlook still works even in debug camera mode? (I ask because it doesn't with TrackIR)

Wow NICE vid! Made me want to try Elite in VR again [big grin]

Great idea to stand on top of that tower in external view, I had no idea you could land there. Imagine if we could walk and there was a chance to fall down if not careful  (Frontier are you reading? ;) )

Someone should make a VR game about climbing buildings, towers etc. With insane heights, spectacular views and challenging routes :D

This all got me thinking about these crazy guys. Worth a watch if not seen.

Shreddog...those guys are insane!!!

Wow.

Why do we have sound in a vacuum ?

FD initially tested the game without sound.
It did not work at all.
Sound adds so incredibly much to the experience.

So we now have futuristic sound emulators in our ships.
Or you can make up something yourself to explain for it :).

I am glad we have sound. FD is very good at it.

Small planets have very small body exclusion zones. Which means you can often find small planets with large mountains you can supercruise between. In the case above (not my video) there may be a canyon where the sides rise high enough to be above the BEZ so you can supercruise through as long as you maintain level flight or a slight climb - otherwise you'd automatically drop you out.
