So we're half way through September...

I'm wondering what surprise 2.4 will have for us...

Piracy being given some TLC?

Crime and Punishment being fixed?

NPC Wingmen in some more involved missions?

Nice new deep background sim mechanics? Leading to things like...

Full blown station blockade mechanics, complete with roles/missions to support/break it? Running it as a trader results in higher CRs? Potential passsenger missions to evacuate out of blockaded station?

More exploration visuals/content?

I'm assuming English is not your first language. Are you saying some people won't want to buy any more DLC because 1 single part of Horizons is running later than they assumed at the release of E: D?
By my count that's 2 parts of Horizons running later than assumed: 2.1 and 2.2.

2.2 being released pretty much at the tail end of this year. I personally doubt that 2.3 will even be scheduled for release until next year. And the content or likelyhood of 2.4 is anybody's guess.

They're Brits, have you ever seen their road system? You can't map that, let alone stick to it!

Our roads aren't that bad!

...

Erm... Don't ask me what's going on here.

I predict that the 2.2 Beta will start (and finish) between the time I go on holiday (tomorrow) and get back from holiday (Oct 1). :(

Why do we keep having the same conversation here. One, didn't eveyone say to DF take your time? We want quality over speed? Have we not had countless conversations about the development process? How can anyone here not understand this by now - programming takes time and is not something you can pin down to exact dates. If FD get everything released by the end of the year they would have done brilliantly to have had things done on time.

Guess what though - if they didn't, it means they needed more time to get it right! That's a good thing :)

I started this post not to rush them, but to whittle away time (bored at work) guessing if we'd be getting any official communication, given we're 4 weeks away from mid October :)

Also to reiterate that I miss the weekly Dev updates, they were truly a great opportunity to discuss what was being done.

Is that the design for The Engineers?

Almost... It's a visual representation of how to find materials for the engineers.

I thought that was the result of Engineers praying to RNGesus to determine which direction to build next.

The surprise is Thargoids. :) The TLC is also Thargoids. ;)

Considering how the community acted the last time they gave us an update (ship transfer) I almost prefer the devs never give us updates again. Just push stuff out.

Yup, a simple thing called "timely Communication" saved them from having to address it later during Beta (or even after V2.2 release).

Worked like a charm :)
