We'd have loved to be able to search for Salomé in Cemiess and the neighboring systems or solve a puzzle that ultimately leads to her location. Both of that was not possible. And we wouldn't stick our heads in the sand letting them play out their cover-up-operation!
Unfortunately it seems to be the only way "the game" works to allow a player groups presence to be felt ... by blowing up other factions ships. In fact most of the mission givers encourage such behaviour when they don't have missions to give.
there has been discussion about shedding your "seven veils". That makes sense in this context. Strip your ship down to the minimum, no shields, no weapons, no cargo etc etc to get maximum jump range. (although such things become irrelevant with Engineers, which weren't in the game at release)
So what do we do, go to Achenar and kill things?
PS: CoR are a "revolutionary group". And so is Dark Wheel?
Well. .. it's their interpretation. Although 'revolutionary group' does seem to fit recent activities !
I thought CoR were dedicated to solving the mysteries of the universe and shunned all political ambitions.
Loved Lady Kahina in the book, but she lost my support when she became a terrorist.
We still have no political ambitions. The galnet-article is "misleading" at the best.
But we didn't feel to have any other chance to make a statement than forcibly working the BGS in Cemiess. We've had one galnet-submission posted only locally and two rejected. Since Salomés abduction there was utter silence in galnet. It seemed to us that working Cemiess is the only thing left to push the story further. This is clearly linked to "solving the mysteries of the universe" - the capture of Salomé is a cover-up operation. We do this to prevent it to be successful! Cause otherwise solving mysteries could become a dangerous thing to do.
So what do we do, go to Achenar and kill things?
PS: CoR are a "revolutionary group". And so is Dark Wheel?
And therein lies my frustration with the Rift mystery - the game gives us nothing but nails, so we've all turned into hammers.

The Children of Raxxla have forced Cemiess into lockdown, drawing both the Emperor's gaze, and the ire of millions. We inflict this hardship upon the good Citizens of Cemiess with heavy hearts: our leader Salomé has been abducted as a pretense, and a twisted rot within the core of the Empire has silenced all those voices who wail for justice.
We have evidence that casts heavy doubt on Salomé's indictment, and in the spirit of justice we implore Emperor Lavigny-Duval to send a representative to review this evidence and release Salomé from the Admiral's custody. The Children of Raxxla have seen Imperial honour shine through the judgement and actions of its greatest leaders throughout the centuries, and today it is Arissa Lavigny-Duval in whom we place our trust.
We were in communication with Salomé during the assassination attempt and at the moment of her arrest. The swiftness of her abduction did not allow for an investigation by the Admiral's agents, and her distress call implicated those among the Imperial elite. While the evidence against Salomé is yet to be presented, journalists are being fed nonsense and propaganda to fill this intentional void.
The personal animosity between the Admiral and Salomé, or Senator Kahina as she was once known, is public knowledge. This show trial for Salomé's supposed treason is delaying a real investigation into yet another Imperial assassination. The Cemiess Imperial Society still sits on its hands while evidence floats away, and Admiral Patreus is content to risk Imperial security by allowing his assassins a second chance while he settles old scores.
Neither Salomé, nor the Children of Raxxla have designs on the throne, or indeed any political office, nor will we ever seek to wield political power. For centuries we've had our eyes on the horizon, backs to the bubble. Some never look back. But this spark could ignite the galaxy.
We implore Your Majesty, release Salomé.
Wait... I thought it was a needle? So.. What do nails look like?

Aisling is blaming Kahina for the instability(Emperor's Dawn). That's a nice way of getting the attention away from her self.
The people backing Aisling and Emperor's Dawn are probably working to get Harry on the throne. They arranged the fake assassination attempt on Pat and framed Kahina.
As long as Aisling is able to steer Pat by his pants, he can be quite useful to them.
If anyone in the Empire is going to support Kahina, it will be Arisssa. She has everything to lose by giving the 'Traditionalists' a victory. If they gain momentum, they may be able to reverse the Lavigny family coup of the throne.
Open questions:
- Is Pat a naive as he seems, or does he just play along?
- What is Trovald's position? She is obviously to smart to give anything away, but I have a feeling she knows everything. She is a traditionalist, but she also dislikes Aisling and probably Harry as well.
I've been thinking along similar lines, but have come to (possibly) slightly different conclusions - well, more questions than conclusions. I can't see either Patreus or Aisling as traditionalists, as Pat has a tenuous claim to the throne and has talked about opening entitlement to beyond the immediate dynasty. And Aisling opposes both slavery and narcotic use, neither of which are traditional Imperial views. Torval? Well, she certainly is a traditionalist but is not a likely candidate for the throne. So I wonder if the balance confronting ALD now is one between those with ambitions on her throne - Pat and AD - and those without - herself and Torval. It's a fairly even balance, from her perspective. So how can we tip that balance in our favour - or, more properly, in Salome's favour..? How long will Pat and AD keep up the united front, given that unless AD is willing to marry Pat - unlikely, given that would kill her personal ambitions for the throne - Pat will always lose to AD on the bloodline..? Can we exploit that obvious fault-line between those two..?
