"What's immediately evident is that Cloud Imperium was in over its head almost from the very beginning. The money that poured in from neglected space sim fans drove Roberts to make ever-greater commitments, without any real plan to bring them to fruition. "

Oof! I guess today the SC action team goes into "this is old news! FUD! FUD! FUD!" mode.

This part REALLY explains a lot about Star Citizen:

“All of the developers who had worked on inventory systems said ‘OK, well, that's why this works in their game and why it won't work in this game’,” a source told me. “We spent four months having to prove ourselves right because that's the way it works with Chris Roberts. He will never believe you if you say you can't do something. You have to actually spend the time to make the entire thing and then show him when you push the button it doesn't work. That was a persistent issue. The team lost four months on that, a lot of manpower and hours, proving that, yes, in fact that doesn't work.”

Another source added “There are no compromises with Roberts or reasoning with him once he has made up his mind about something.”

I suggest *everyone* - SC fan, denier - read this http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2016/09/23/inside-the-troubled-development-of-star-citizen

Huge article, incredibly well researched, multiple sources including Roberts.

If you are SC fan, however, you might not like it.
Chris in not-a-very-good-manageer-indeed shocker. News at 11.

…well that certainly rings a bell as far as a recent topic of discussion is concerned. The whole article is the Jennisson letter all over again, but applied to every part of the project. [haha]

CR are a born liar LMAO OMG, he just can't help it can he, everything in SC are we are the first, never done before . I would like to see some evidence for this so called never done before .

Coincidence that this article full of unverifiable FUD is published the day afer the LoD thread craziness? I doubt so.
What article is that?
And no, it's not much of a coincidence that the harassment squad moved elsewhere when one of their avenues were closed.

You're right, my bad. It's the title of the article being so full of sensationalism which led me to think the content of the article would be more of the same. I've just read it and it turns out the article doesn't really say anything, neither good nor bad.
What harassment squad?

CIG just does what Apple does. Hey, it works and it even gets cheared on and getting all the money.

So screw truth. Perception is everything.

That part was great, but I also loved his sudden claim about a "background in art."

Oh. I see.

Kotaku and PC Gamer are in league together because a Derek Smart subreddit is outraged at the closing of a small thread on a Frontier subforum?

Seriously, Hi-Ban? Months of investigation in retaliation for a thread being closed? Did they time travel?

I've just read it and it turns out the article doesn't really say anything, neither good nor bad.

Oh, so you thought it was the product of a conspiracy BEFORE reading it. And after reading a very large article in the 2 minutes it took to edit your comment, you somehow missed the countless quotes painting CR as a terrible manager? Well, that definitely helps explain where you're coming from.

Sooo… again, what article are you talking about?

What harassment squad?
The one that now has one less site to harass its target on.

Well, after all, this is the guy who apparently “studied physics” and ended up not being familiar with the very advanced concept of momentum.

Well to be fair, that "harassment squad" as you call it, didn't really do anything different than what's being done on a daily basis on this thread, so i don't really know why you guys are so scandalized.

I'm shocked to see that two independent gaming sites are apparently under the control of anti SC forces! Clearly it must all have been made up overnight.

I'm not finished on the first article yet but there's quite a lot of stuff there that I haven't seen before apparently confirming some theories that have been doing the rounds for a while.

Chris apparently confirms that post consultation on any issue it's his way or the highway - which to be fair I can understand - but, if that way turns out to be demonstrably wrong one would hope he'd have the nads to own it.

ETA - just got to the self confessed public dressing down and shaming of staff - what a guy..

Do people from this thread go outside like to RSI and post? I certainty don't.

So there you have it.

It's time to fess up.

I'm the time traveler who organized those two articles yesterday night by visiting seven months ago because I was so gosh darned angry about the LOD thread.

Tomorrow I'm going back to 1976 to give David Braben Elite Dangerous on a bucket full of 3 1/2 inch diskettes.

I also altered the Illphonic size requirement documentation next Thursday.

I popped forward to find out how this ends but all records were destroyed in Derek Smarts rebellion against President Trump. The world is peaceful in the future but we still don't have personal jet-packs.

You should all invest heavily in dairy free cheese.

Ah, I knew timey wimey stuff must've been involved. That weird groaning, wheezing BBC sound effect in the background totally gave it away.

I see that you accept that what they did in the LoD thread is done here on a daily basis. Thanks for proving my point.
No more questions, your honor.
