Deep Recon X - Gateway

How good am I to you lot?! That link takes you right to the actual post!
Anyhoo, thanks to Isodyne joining us I'm reminded to do this:

If any of our newer CMDRs want to know where to get the DRX avatar, or how to set up an INARA signature sporting the DRX logo, just ask one of the Command Team and they'll sort you out. The more visible we are as a team the better.

Take this thread as an example: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/293017-Any-thoughts-on-this-basic-Explorer-loadout
First two responses are from seasoned DReXers, and the 4th from our very own newest recruit, ISODYNE! I'm thrilled with that.
I want us to become the go-to guys when if comes to exploration.
Wearing our avatar, or having a sig mentioning DRX raises our profile in the ED community's consciousness.
Just sayin'

I'm only peeking in to check stuff out, kinda had forgotten about y'all till Iconoclypse here added me on the xbone.

I do have a couple questions, how do I find y'all on the mobile version of discord, and does it really affect much if I'm routinely working or just unable to be around during certain times?

No, I'm a rebel.

In terms of times because we have CMDRs all over the world there's often conversations going on at any time really, but there are definitely 'peak' times. You can still join in at any time, even if no-one live on the server at time (though that's kind of rare). Also bear in mind there tends to be more chatter when we have active missions in progress or when an expansion is coming (same as on here really - the forum post-1.6 was MENTAL).

In terms of the mobile version, I'll have to bow to someone else, I always use my laptop. Wolfy? OH, WOLFY! We have a comms question here...

Erm, yeah! Do you mean 'half a rebel'? Nice sig. It's got Deep Recon X in it. Sweet!
Bloody clown! lol

Also, 'Blackstar'? For our dearly departed Bowie?

Somebody has to send you a link. I'll see if I can get one. Check your PMs soon

EDIT: Scratch that. Command team has to post a link. Check the Dangerous groups thread and see if there's one there.

And you've kept SHTUMM on your exploits?! TELL US WHAT YOU BEEN UP TO, MAN!

:D

I mean, you must have a screenie or hundred being 14kylies out!

Skirting the edge of Hawkins gap via the statue of liberty nebula, some mad open clusters, Eta carina, and another nebula whos name escapes me right now. Very little to report back other than the sheer amount of undiscovered systems. Now heading back at speed along the orion spur.

Xbox dvr - JT442 for pics....

Sweet, JT. I shall be raiding your cache for the DRX Facebook page AND here! :D [yesnod]

I took the Suicidewinder back from Jacques last night... after selling the Cutter up there. I knew I was never going to fly it back to the bubble and it's uses out there were around nil. I've still got the Python and Anaconda up there at my second home for when I get back.

So, 480 million credits richer after the Cutter sale, which boosted my cash bank balance to just short of 1 billion creds  ... I shot back home the quick way, a quick trip in a half fitted Hauler from the dark of Hudson space saw me winging my way back to Selye orbital in Hip 20019....it's been my home for almost a year now and it really felt like a homecoming.

I've just the two Cobras left back at Hip 20019, the MkIV I've already engineered... the MkIII still was in Vanilla state. I thought I had done with RNGineers... but the Cobra III needed tweaking a tad to go with the nice body kit and paint.

Well... the RNG gods were with me a tad...found the few bits I needed in under an hour and pulled the handle on the one armed bandit up at Farseer...It now boosts to almost 530Mps with a grade 3 upgrade... base speed at 360Mps (faster than most ships can boost)

It also jumps a fairly decent 34Ly with the grade 5 upgrade, so not too bad a deal from Felicity, Just the shields to tweak up at Khun and the Roadrunner is done... the Cobra III certainly now lives up to it's name... the Roadrunner. Meep Meep! :)

I'm going to open my Xbox up today. It's out of warranty anyway... See of I can't fix it.

Ahh, so this is where DRX has gone. Liked to read the old thread from time to time to see what shennanigans you all were up to, and was temporarily dismayed to see it had been locked. Also, I'm one of those tools always in Gateway. [haha]

I've posted a lot of these in the screenshot thread but just posting here as well as I'm now classing my latest expedition as my first proper deep-recon mission.

I haven't been keeping track exactly where I've been (but have been bookmarking locations so will draw a map from that when I'm done to show the route - I've found a lot of un-claimed worlds so it might be a good route for anyone looking for those elusive "firsts".

I also managed to find a crashed satellite waaaaay outside the bubble which I considered to be quite unique (I've had not much luck finding POI's this far out (which isn't even that far out probably by some standards like the intrepid bongo-san).

A rough indication though is out towards barnards loop taking in all the nebula there - flame / orion / horsehead etc etc then trying to push beyond and getting stuck in the Col 70 web (took a whole night's play to escape). Originally I was heading for ETA Carina but found the only way I could escape was to head for the Monkey-Head Nebula. So I've done a fair bit of up / down / back-track / forward track etc. I've decided to push on in another direction now I've escaped the trap and not 100% sure where I'm going, at the moment I'm following a seam of unclaimed star systems (inbetween but not as far out as the heart and soul / monkeyhead nebula) am not aiming for the nebula, rather a straight line inbetween to see what I find. As I say - when I return , I'll indicate a route-map if it's helpful. So far - no sign of anything Alien :) Ix

Unfortunately I wont make it to Ray in time. I'm out here at Colonia with a fair bit of scanning to do, too many undiscovered objects.
Enjoy cmdrs, o7 from 22,000ly away!

Nice shot, Red. Don't worry, you're only going to miss a few missions ;). Though there's still time to get back Bubble-side for 'Go West' certainly. That mission doesn't go live 'til the 7th Oct. Full mission details will be available shortly...

Nice shots, Iso. Glad to hear you escaped that bottle-neck!

So what exactly is DRX? I've read the bits on the old thread and the inara, but do you just mooch about doing your own thing? Do you have to report on stuff? I'm a bit unclear on the purpose.
