Except.....they didn't, this is typical SDC propaganda, and frankly the fact you buy into it is as disturbing as the propaganda itself.
SDC want us/you to believe they helped nerf the heat meta, this is despite the fact that Frontier were well aware and acting upon it, (see earlier reply to SDC), before SDC's latest pew excuse. Also take I to consideration that SDC's operation has created absolutely zero drama on the forums, (thus their need for this attention thread I suspect). There has been no tears or salt from folk blown up by them over the heat issue, so for them to claim they somehow forced Frontier's hand is ridiculous.
More propaganda from SDC comes in the form of their claims to be 'the most prominent group in Elite at the moment'. More nonsense of course, groups like Canonn, the Fuel Rats, Colonial and many more receive much more air time on Galnet, newsletters, podcast's, streams, various Elite radio stations and much more that SDC ever does or will. Groups like SDC, unlike many members of the community, can't cope with being a tiny cog in Elite Dangerous, they scream, stamp their feet, make grandiose claims and outright lie to make themselves feel important.
If you are one of those that buys into their nonsense then more fool you.
