OK, I'll bite.

No suck up here. I can see lots of things that need to be improved as soon as possible. My reply was triggered by your 'I dont care what anyone says'.

Formulating your 'feedback' like that doesn't really invite constructive replies.

Bit harsh.

Some good advise.

Bit harsh.

He's obviously intelligent enough to write the OP and frustrated enough to spend a few minutes doing that. So I suggest gentle encouragement and some Earl Grey Hot. :D

The thing you need to appreciate Mac is that the Beta is not intended to be representative of the final product. There are a ton of features not yet implemented. Suck it up, stand it like a man .. and .. give some back.

You should be able to make creds with the info I sent. If not you may have problems with your input method? Keyboard and mouse is a bit hardcore for many. Do you have a joystick or a HOTAS? Are you aware of VoiceAttack etc?

What were your expectations when you signed up anyway? How does the Beta not meet those - is it just frustration at not being able to make credits? If so I can totally empathize with you. I almost flounced myself before changing the way I play and going more toward the pew and less dwelling on the stew.
Thanks for your reply. I did "give some back". The game is unwieldly, wildly difficult, and, being beta, buggy as hell. I don't mind bugs, I don't mind being kicked off the server every 5 minutes, and I don't mind having to wait for an hour to connect.

My opinion is, the game, as it plays now, is much too difficult for the average person -- even a person who has played space games before, as I have -- and I think it won't be successful.

And, pardon me, but being a "man" has nothing to do with it. Your implication is noted, however, and only serves to help confirm my opinion of the people who play this game and who represent the company. Any dissatisfied customer, no matter how he expresses it, is not a "man"? Is that how it works? I mentioned my points as to why I think this game, as it is now, will fail grandly. No one wants to pay to be frustrated and endlessly irritated by the multitude of troubles, teeny adjustments, endless sandbaggings, and constant destructions. Even in EVE, as a new player, there is a safe place to go to mine and make at least SOME money. Not here. It's just chaos and totally unrealistic situations. ED is like hip-hop space gangsta-ism. No point.

Im just making short quotes here, not to take anything out of context, but simply to point out some obvious things.. so read on..

Okay, beta or not, this game sucks, and sucks loud. I don't care what anyone says.... ... ...
"BETA = broken set of code not to be confused with a game = cannot be compared to any other game experience." "Period".

... ... I'm outta here. What a colossal waste of money, and a total scam. Deleting it from my computer.
People buy access codes from other people all the time.. get your money back less any amount that you and future purchaser agree on for time wasted.. I mean used..

... ... I can't tell you how many other games I've played. None busted b*lls like ED.
"BETA = broken set of code not to be confused with a game = cannot be compared to any other game experience." "Period".

... ... People are going to see it for what it is the minute they try to play, ... ...
By the time people can actually and officially say they are "playing" then the "game" will have been officially released and is subject to opinions about its gameplay and its new and future-present-current set of bugs like any other game..

... ... I'd bet anything on it.
Your cost of admission was one type of bet, but it was placed against a BETA, see above..

... ... Terrible, unwieldly, slow, unfair, and stupid game.
"BETA = broken set of code not to be confused with a game = cannot be compared to any other game experience." "Period".

... ... I'm not wanted in the "community", eh? Darn.
All those trying to offer you good advice in previous posts in this thread cannot be lumped into one category with all those who do not want you in the community.. there are all levels and shades of grey - in between - as to how much you are wanted or not.. no need to bait people into a girly catfight..

I have no idea what he is talking about. I've never been shot a single bolt/bullet while traveling through space on supercruise. Yes I've had many interdictions since start of PB1 but I always just boost away into opposite direction, power to engines and enter supercruise sooner than enemies can actually close the distance to me even half way. I guess the conclusion - power to engines and boost away? Oh yeah, For shocks - I still fly sidewinder and I can outrun even cobras before I can enter supercruise. No pirate ever shot at me...

Oh, c'mon! I'm a casual gamer and I picked it up very quickly. So no, it's not too difficult for the average person - unless I'm incredibly gifted and just don't realise it

Clearly, I was referring to the people who were acting like fanboy morons, and not everyone else. Save your hostile "girly catfight" insults. You're trying to bait ME with that comment, actually. I'm not the one who started slinging mud at others, and getting personal. There are a lot of people here who have absolutely nothing to do with this company, and yet they're actually hurt, angry, and insulted that I think this game is awful. Pretty scary.

Okay, beta or not, this game sucks, and sucks loud. I don't care what anyone says. This is impossible.

no it isnt as maybe can prove on here, steep learning curve maybe.

I am no maverick but I manage ok - I am up to an eagle now after "only" 10hrs or so play.
[redacted].

or maybe you are just not learning it properly. Games that aim for the long haul take time to master. You are coming accross as really arrogant.

I will tell you 1 thing, and any one here will agree..... it is a damn site easier to dogfight than in was in frontier

and it is a hell of a lot easier to dock than it was in teh BBC game. So my question is.... did you do any homework about the history of this game.

and if not... that is ours / Frontier Developments fault how?

To be fair, this is kind of the mistake I made with star citizen.... I should have looked at past games and not listened to the sales pitch. At 1st when played the alpha of that I was horrified. But now, after some practice, and using the console pad and I have realigned my expectations, I am enjoying that now quite a bit too.

[Redacted]

dude... loads of people tried to help you (as did I - thanks for the rep for taking 5 mins out of my day to help you..... oh wait!!) and all you did was post with insults of SCAM and RUBBISH and I dont care what you say, and blaming the community for misselling the game to you... Of course people were going to push back!

It's a very, very early beta. I can envisage this guy throwing his toys out of the pram when the saves get wiped for the next stage.

Not sure how serious the OP really is.
But just to be safe i'll write an eloquent reply on my invisible typewriter.

Yeah, its a shame peeps are dogpilling though. No need to encourage the guy to troll himself off the forum. :D I get the impression a lot of it is just frustration and maybe a subconscious desire to provoke enough of a response from the 'fan boys' so he can justify not making any further effort and hatin' broadly about his experience.

Mac .. seriously. Take a break. Think it through. Come back (if you come back) and try to manage your expectation. ;)

Actually, from your OP:

everybody here just sucks up, and raves about how great this game is, and how their lives have changed, and the game is an epiphany which actually made them see God

It's not surprising that you'd get some hostility, having made that accusation.

Clearly a complex space sim like this is not for everyone. But there's no need to harangue or name-call those of us who do like such games.

I will only say that i disagree with OP. :) Different tastes.

(And lets try to not fall into provocation. He/she has his/her opinion, and we may only agree or disagree with it)

It's not that hard. A little perseverance will be rewarded.

I guess if games have been dumbed down enough these days to provoke that kind of reaction when faced with a moderate challenge, then it probably explains why most games these days don't hold my attention for more than about 5 minutes.
