Jameson memorial outfitting has gone !

Really?????

Is it this bloody easy?

Guess now everyone knows it won't be long before it is down again. Best find a new home tonight!

The children win again! [wacko]

if it is true then it is something FD need to take care of tout suite .... thinking about it it is probably quite easy... for starters - assuming FD do not want to put a cooldown on the freewinder, make the value of the destroyed ship have an effect on how strong the effect is on the system .

so blowing up a cutter worth 500mil would have a big effect but blowing up a zero value freewinder would have zero effect.

it could still be abused, but only the smallest handful of players could blow up 20 of their own cutters without feeling the pain.

(and even then i still think continual claiming on insurance esp on ships like the cutter where no pilot should be expected to blow them up every 10 mins should have a negative effect - increased excess or reticence for the empire to let you have one right away)

alternatively only CONFIRMED kills have an effect on system state and given that Pilots Federation members never die........................

If that happens i am off to NMS where i can play in a Pink sky and have fluffy animals to squeak at me and destroy bright blue flowers and huge Gold Mountains

And the forums can be wiped by salty mods. :D

Takes almost zero effort and can be almost completely automated with auto-key. Leave station, have partner kill you, repeat until lockdown. If the "victim" is using a 0 cost starter sidewinder this can be done without any cost beyond time. Autokey can be used to launch, exit to main menu, re-enter game, ship re-spawns outside station, partner shoots "victim", while the auto-key script launches an other one. Only takes a couple hour's work by a single person with a few alt accounts to lock down any system. Doesn't even have to be in open since private groups will affect the BGS just the same.

That's if you were wondering why ships were just launching and disappearing from Jameson Memorial only to re-appear only to get blown up outside it. Don't know why they weren't doing it in private but I guess they just don't care.

Hmmm, that's not at all good. Especially given the time taken to get a system OUT of lockdown. Seems entirely disproportionate. Some comments from the Devs would really be appreciated on this.

Because it's part of the game.

I am not sure Station Ramming is though Comrade Error, or is it just me that thinks this is really not Cricket! (Apologies if you are from the other side of the pond, as you will not know what cricket is ;) )

He didn't really specify any post so I assume he was reffering to the people who caused the lockdown.

Judging by some of the comments on this thread bemoaning the loss of services, they are very salty comments indeed! Nothing wrong with salt, unless you are intolerant.

I'm pretty sure using the way the system works as described upthread to annoy other players is the literal definition of griefing, but whatever.

Edit: Ha it actually is.

Wikipedia said:

Salt & Vinegar Crisp without the salt would just be,........... , well just Vinegar Crisps!

Do you know the intentions of whoever did it? Even if that's the case (which it's not according to wikipedia) so what? It's still part of the game whether it's used to annoy other players or not. Imperials annoy Feds and Feds annoy Imperials. One is the griefer in the perspective of the other.

Somehow I doubt that getting a friend to kill you repeatedly to force a lockdown is playing the game as intended, and if you can come up with any reason for doing that other than to      off as many people as possible I'm all ears.
