He does have a point, though. I was following SC thread on this forum for quite some time but as I said, I didn't want to get involved because I have only moderate interest in that game. However, I couldn't but notice that the hate level is unbelievable. CiG gets smacked for everything - when they deserve but even more so when they realistically do not.

maybe its because in the beginning we gave them a lot of slack, they then lied to us, they openly mocked some of the backers, and they was spending money given to them to make a game on garbage!!!

If you treat people like crap, you can expect they will turn on you at some point, and that is what happened.

That was exactly what you implied. You said that the demo of the editor proven that the naysayers where wrong in their statements that "can't be done". Now, first of all, show me one quote of any person on Planet Earth stating that they stated that "an editor can't be done".

What i said is that having entire planets with that level of detail being built on a quick way and running in-engine on real time, that is what people said "can't be done". And CIG proved them wrong with that video of the editor.

No. They didn't. Because when people implies "can't be done" they are saying that won't work in practice, on people's machine, as a game, with all the feature set that RSI promises to have and in the reality of the market. They are with the insight of the entire game on top of it, not just an editor with silly mechanics attached. An editor running in a uber-machine, with no game attached or feature-set of the game attached to it, proves nothing. Star Citizen NEVER was "walking on planets and press use" game design, running in uber-machines or it will crash... that and only that. So, what the hell are you talking about? It proves nothing. Star Citizen still is not proven that can't be done as advertised. Even the devs, more recently than in the past, because it became pathetic to lie in the face of the people at this point, are openly stating that didn't solve all techincal needs to realize what they advertised.

Apparently you are the one misunderstanding what people say, which is odd, because it's silly to presume that people are simply stating "can't be done" when we ALL know that everything can be done with infinite money and infinite time. Don't you think that you were very silly in your interpretation of what people said? You are out of the reality. No "naysayer" believes that the demo proven what you claim. No press claimed that now Star Citizen is proven that will release with all its promised features.

In other words... just move on... you were proven wrong. Your statement is a falacy. Just admit that and maybe you can start to have some credibility here and people could even start to take your opinions more seriously, which I am sure, is what you want or you wouldn't spend so much time here in the first place otherwise. So this advice was for free.

You must read the previous posts some pages ago to know what was that about. It's has nothing to do with ED, by the way.
In that pic, i show the SC planets v1 (upper image, from gamescom demo) and the SC planets v2 (lower image, from citizencon demo). Some people here claimed that there was absolutely no progress done from v1 to v2, that they were the same. I posted that image so they could see the obvious progress done in texture quality and amount of detail.

Some of the posters in here complaining about SC fanboys when they do the exact same for ED is sickening.

What I read between the lines here is FEAR. Some people so scared of SC because for some weird reason they've latched onto ED like ticks and they see SC as a threat to ED. It's mental.

From what I've seen of SC it's looking promising. I backed it at the lowest level some time ago but I don't follow it like I used to follow Elite. If they release a good game eventually then great, if they don't then it's another reason not to crowd fund ever again as people can't be trusted to deliver what they pitched.

Im excited for the game. Im particularly looking forward to role playing in the verse. My profession of choice would to be a purveyor of middling quality nylon garments; selling attire to commandos that will make them the envy of their guild peers. Here check out details of what I have in mind:

Spend less time reading between the lines and more time just reading. You'll also be able to discern a lot more by ignoring the fractious melodrama from some of the more passionate contributors of opposing opinion.

Many many many times over have people demonstrated why SC is deserving of the criticism and scrutiny it receives.

I have not read once, any ED player or fan or whatever they identify as (Vegan, Anti-Consumer, Gender Neutral Goldfish) claim that ED is going to or has "blown away any other AAA title", making games like "COD, Witcher 3, Mass Effect look bad", "Make more money and appeal to more people" or my favourite "CiG a better Game Development studio than Infinity Ward, Blizzard, CDPR etc".

Really don't think it is hypocritical, nor do I think they are doing the exact same thing, in the slightest - not even remotely similar. When laughable claims are made, laughter will be had.

I am sure you can post the quotes then right? Or are you just making that up? Also CIG have yet to actually prove that wrong. You do understand that CIG has to actually release this stuff for that to happen right? CIG would have to pump out planets to prove that wrong.


I am not sure what you think happened, but CIG have in no way shown that they can produce full planets, again SC planets are smaller then moons, in that type of detail quickly because they have not actually released anything yet.

Like I said before, if they wanted to demonstrate planet tech then why didn't they? They buzzed by two biomes and showed us 1 in detail that was heavily hand-crafted.

If they wanted to show us how quickly and easily they can make this stuff then why not, you know, do that. Or at least show us the many fruits of such an efficient and fast process.

It is, again, all words. Just words to go with pretty pictures and doctored demos.

The onus is with CIG to prove the doubters wrong. Up to now in my opinion, they have failed.

We criticise ED where it is appropriate. And plenty of long and vivid debates in this forum are constant proof of this.
Frontier doesn't ban people for "not fully supporting the project". CIG did, and still does.

So yes, we do what we preach.

I love his reasoning though:

Now do an entire planet with different biomes using that level of detail and post a video of it running in-engine at a good framerate.
I'm not asking you to do a big planet, of course. A small planet of 2000Km radius will be enough.

But first CIG needs to showcase that. So i know what im supposed to mimic. They just happened to land on the only detailed spot on the planet.
the ground texture i would need to mimic for most of planet would be like this

Now that i think about it the bengal scale was way off the guy walked from bridge of javelin to rear of it in under a minute
the walk from bridge to rear of bengal only took 30 seconds (calculated without the pauses the guy took to scope around)
30x3m/s= 90meters. (over estimate average walking speed of human is 1.4m/s and that would equal 42 meters)

that carrier is supposed to be 300 meters.
conclusion bengal has been scaled down.

The only way calculations of size would match up was if the guy was running at usain bolt speed of 44.64 km/h

Give us an example of where we were unfair with RSI. What "hate level". Been objective, and been more mature than acting just as a passionate cheerleader is now "hate"?
