We've reached a significant milestone with the spreadsheet - we've reached 104LY out from Merope with all stars known in EDDB listed with their distances (plus a few unknown to EDDB without distances).
Why is that significant? It marks the edge of the Pleiades Sector, so we can now move into predictive discovery mode for Pleiades Sector systems.
Predictive discovery? Sounds exciting, what does it mean?
It means that we can use ED's system naming conventions to find systems that are currently unknown to us in EDDB.
The spreadsheet allows us to list systems alphabetically.
e.g. Pleiades Sector AL-X c1- systems
Pleiades Sector AL-X c1-0 99.19
Pleiades Sector AL-X c1-6 89.84
Pleiades Sector AL-X c1-7 89.21
Pleiades Sector AL-X c1-8 93.17
Pleiades Sector AL-X c1-9 97.04
We seem to be missing systems c1-1 through c1-5. I'm fairly confident that Stellar Forge is systematic and that these systems actually exist in game.
EDDB just doesn't know about them, which might mean they're also undiscovered in game.
For reference, the current Pleiades Sector systems that we have in the spreadsheet that EDDB doesn't know about are:
Pleiades Sector EM-V c2-12
Pleiades Sector FB-X b1-2
Pleiades Sector FW-W d1-32
Pleiades Sector GB-X b1-0
Pleiades Sector GR-W d1-28
Pleiades Sector HM-U b3-1
Pleiades Sector HM-V b2-2
Pleiades Sector JH-V b2-0
Pleiades Sector JR-W c1-5
Pleiades Sector KX-S b4-0
Pleiades Sector NH-V b2-0
Pleiades Sector NH-V b2-1
Pleiades Sector TK-N b7-2
These have been discovered using the NavTab screenshot method, so that is still the most reliable fallback method to ensure that we end up listing every system in the area.
We currently only have 50 of those logged, so plenty of potential discoveries still out there.
The NavTab method will also uncover unknown catalog stars and will help with the sectors that cross through the shell and outside our area of interest.
