Community Event / Creation Pleiades Survey Project

We've reached a significant milestone with the spreadsheet - we've reached 104LY out from Merope with all stars known in EDDB listed with their distances (plus a few unknown to EDDB without distances).
Why is that significant? It marks the edge of the Pleiades Sector, so we can now move into predictive discovery mode for Pleiades Sector systems.
Predictive discovery? Sounds exciting, what does it mean?
It means that we can use ED's system naming conventions to find systems that are currently unknown to us in EDDB.

The spreadsheet allows us to list systems alphabetically.
e.g. Pleiades Sector AL-X c1- systems
Pleiades Sector AL-X c1-0 99.19
Pleiades Sector AL-X c1-6 89.84
Pleiades Sector AL-X c1-7 89.21
Pleiades Sector AL-X c1-8 93.17
Pleiades Sector AL-X c1-9 97.04

We seem to be missing systems c1-1 through c1-5. I'm fairly confident that Stellar Forge is systematic and that these systems actually exist in game.
EDDB just doesn't know about them, which might mean they're also undiscovered in game.

For reference, the current Pleiades Sector systems that we have in the spreadsheet that EDDB doesn't know about are:
Pleiades Sector EM-V c2-12
Pleiades Sector FB-X b1-2
Pleiades Sector FW-W d1-32
Pleiades Sector GB-X b1-0
Pleiades Sector GR-W d1-28
Pleiades Sector HM-U b3-1
Pleiades Sector HM-V b2-2
Pleiades Sector JH-V b2-0
Pleiades Sector JR-W c1-5
Pleiades Sector KX-S b4-0
Pleiades Sector NH-V b2-0
Pleiades Sector NH-V b2-1
Pleiades Sector TK-N b7-2
These have been discovered using the NavTab screenshot method, so that is still the most reliable fallback method to ensure that we end up listing every system in the area.
We currently only have 50 of those logged, so plenty of potential discoveries still out there.
The NavTab method will also uncover unknown catalog stars and will help with the sectors that cross through the shell and outside our area of interest.

Some of the missing systems might be missing from the game. Out in NGC 6357, there were definite gaps (sometimes huge) in numbered systems that did not exist in game.

UAs feel harder to find, I'm going through half a dozen signal sources now before finding one; previously I rarely had to go through more than one or two.

UPs feel … well, I frankly haven't found one yet in 2.2 despite checking every known system

On the bright side, all of the Barnacle sites I've visited so far have been in bloom. And can confirm that scanning the central structure does indeed place "Unknown Barnacle" into your navigation tab. Trying to visit them all.

Nothing to scan on the wreck, but there's a research base next to it now (Noctrach-Ihazevich!) which serves as a convenient bookmark. Majestic still likes to shoot you down though.

I scanned the central strucur, got an message, but cannot see it in nav tab or map.

Update: after re-entering the game, I got it.

Was it a barnacle site with a capital ship above it? I've noticed the nav tab POIs are glitchy for those

Scanned and uploaded, together with a bunch of systems I passed on my job.

I will leave Pleiades for now and head to Canonn institut, I got an official member and wasn't there yet. They expect to meet me in person.
Probably I will have to go to Sol afterwards to get a full picture whats going on there.

those who fully discovered HIP 17862 before 2.2 should check for the marker if it is visible, before jumping in the system again.
If so, we all could check our discoveries in the Peiades for new markers

Edit: Forget it, there is no marker after scanning, you have to discover the wreck first

Edit2: I cannot get it marked, bug?

Weird; for the barnacles to get these markers, you have to specifically scan them with your data link.

Is there a data link point for the wreck on HIP?

There isn't one for the wreck on AB-W, and I couldn't get any permanent marker for the AB-W one a few days ago while I was rechecking the Pleiades.

Likewise there's no marker for Xenohenge

2nd wreck site noted in the spreadsheet.
I've added the new base at the first site but I'm not sure I'm completely up-to-date with all available stations, outposts, etc.

I know there is one for the Barnacles, already scanned 2.
For the 2nd Alien ship, in one of the picture, they guy who found it made, you can see, he was able to tag the ship from his ship, I can't
Also I did not find a datapoint.

Visited the 3rd Alien crash site, did you check it as well?

How does this change our Survey of the Pleiades?
How about the marker, it is seen untill the location is discovered?
If so, should we check all systems we visited if there is a marker now?

*OT*
@HeinzE - sorry mate - returned to Germany on 23rd of October, since then busy with my new flat (renovation, furbishing) and have no I-net yet.
Hence since 2.2 only had a few minutes to go some jumps further enroute to Sag A (currentyl 17KLY corewards of Bubble1).
*OT OFF*
Hope to rejoin Pleiades Project in December.
Nevertheless, would U mind to send me the data (SOI / OC -Distances) for HIP 14909 3, so I can do the calc ?
Mates, have safe trips,

RandolfK
