I noticed an IMPACT warning at the top of the screen when the cargo canister hits it. Didn't this say PROX before?

That's new :)

As is
To quote Nicomak who posted this in the E3 thread

-the left hand is moving in the cobra after it took off.
-landing gear indicator
-cargo scoop indicator

and also
-mass lock indicator
-missing buble on the map
-compas with "[ ]". and canisters in white on it??

- ui in station : "bounty collected"... "bank of zaonce"...
looks like some hidden new screen

Yes, the little people in it are fantastic. Now we just need to see them tossing around 1 tonne cargo cannisters in low grav. :)

The music is lovely as well. I usually dislike choires in game music, but I didn't really notice here until the 2nd time I watched it.

I missed Kickstarter. I delayed Alpha to kit out my new gaming PC. I was saving up for a hotas setup. But now, I have to support the Premium Beta. With Elite, Frontier, the Outsider and other games from FD you can see the quality and professionalism growing with the technology. You can tell there is a plan and the team is executing on it. I am telling all my friends about this game doing my part of word-of-mouth advertising.

Wow. Wow! WOW! The best yet.

And the sound... getting better all the time. The landing gear up was perfect.

Now, who is arguing against external camera views? I want to see shots like these when I play. :D Come-on, DB seems to be warming up to rear-view cameras and such. I just can't reconcile a promo like this and no option to get cool views of my own actions even if I have to watch them outside the game.

Now the caveat. Advertising with CG is easier than delivering the same excitement in a game. I would like to hear from FD about how much of that was currently in-engine and how they can translate the feel of the promo to game-play. The people milling around the landing pad in the Coriolis were off the hook!

Man-crush on DB and Frontier.

Nuff-said.

I did think of another question from the video... the Impact warning with the canister was cool, but that got me to thinking how do shields affect canisters. I went through the DDF shield discussions previously but don't know that I got all the conclusions. Do you have to take shields down to scoop cargo? And if not, what is the rationale they can block or affect debris, projectiles and collisions but canisters slip through?

Thanks for any knowledgeable answer!

The most notable change to me was the Eagle cockpit, it's entirely revamped, and looking better than ever:

My eye may not be so keen as to notice the small hud changes, but I did notice that no new ships (well, maybe one from the rear? Looked like an anaconda...) or station types were revealed. I was a little disappointed as this shows little more than is currently playable in PB. Not a bad thing, but deep down was hoping for more in an E3 reveal, you know, to keep us 'backers' excited.

Was hoping to see some new space stations and ships.

Low speed. Shields are not effective for low velocity objects. This is why you can scoop with shields and why you are able to get under the shields (upcoming) of larger vessels if you match speed with them.

http://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=5701 (although not in the bullet points directly, that was discussed)

Also mentioned in some of David Dev diaries (but can't remember which).

Impressive trailer. I think some of us backers need to realise that we aren't the target audience for this. We've already bought into the game, the trailer is to wow the gaming journalists and media and all those people that either haven't heard of the game or haven't been following it closely.

Sure we'd have liked a reveal of some of the other ships and stations, but we know what FD are like. Remember how long it took them to show us the Cobra? If it hadn't been mentioned in the kickstarter I'm pretty certain that Ashley would have tried to convince us that it wasn't going to be in ED.;)

Seeing things like the landing gear/cargo scoop readouts was nice but they were an obvious omission anyway and arguably should have been there from the get-go. I'm hoping there's a bit more to the latest version than a few UI tweaks, graphical flourishes and the like.

Didn't think of the trailer from that angle. Good point, well made. I'll dial down my 'but where are the new stations and ships' whining.

The lighting is sooooo much better now, not being dazzled by the central red ring o' flare.

There is still flare, but much better compromise between realism and getting that 'language of space' gubbins in the graphics.

Looks stunning, absolutely stunning.
