Are you sure the name Isis is Greek?I'm Greek and the only time I've heard it as a name is from Egyptian mythology.

Isis is the italic way to write the ancient Greek way of calling the Egyptian godess. Its not a name in the sense that actual Greek people are called like that! Look at it as the same way you people write the name of, say, a Chinese statesman. It would be the greek way to write a name that is originally from a different characterset, but it wouldnt be a Greek name used by actual Greeks.

We have a restaurant called Isis in the town where I live. Serves a great dish of shredded sheep with pita bread in garlic sauce :p
