You show me challenging and skill-based gameplay, and I'll show you a game that isn't Elite.
That might be just your opinion, right?
You show me challenging and skill-based gameplay, and I'll show you a game that isn't Elite.
And was it more or less challenging and skill based when it was released?
I think you may be arguing for the point...
That might be just your opinion, right?
Not really...I like my games to be challenging and fun. Thing is, I don't like being told that I'm having fun wrong and when that fun never impacted anyone else game, I can't shake the feeling that others are dictating to me that my fun was wrong and their fun is better.
That means someone is being a hypocrite.
If it helps you cope with this feel free to see yourself as a victim of evil people trying to kill your fun for no reason. Or you can take the slightly more mature perspective that your fun was the direct result of what many, including FD, consider crappy game design. But again, if you feel better calling other people 'hypocrites' and create some evil narrative, have fun with it.
Or in other words: FD changed parts that were wrong in their eyes, so if you found those wrong parts 'fun', then yes, FD is telling you that they dont like your fun. That is not being a hypocrite, that is people having a different idea about how the game should work.

No, it's not. Take a look at a fight between a fully A-rated Anaconda, and an Anaconda with an identical loadout that's been modified with engineers. It's not going to be a fair fight in the slightest, let alone skill-based.
No, I read it. What is 'meaningful content'? Please don't tell me it is what EvE does.
Are you forgetting that cargo missions as a whole are now worthless? What if I liked the regular, balanced cargo missions? Gone. What if I wanted to make lots of money? How would that affect YOUR gameplay? It wouldn't. Sothis and Ceos being gone would be a-okay with me if there was a way to make money quickly, or even reasonably fast, but now there isn't.
FGS how many times......regular cargo missions are not gone they are BUGGED and currently being worked on.
Should it have got through beta? Maybe not but your angst is missplaced.
If they were bugged they should have been fixed before transfer times were reduced. Core mechanics come before QoL adjustments.
Come on ....... think about what you are saying. That FD shoukd sit on their hands and not make changes until something else is fixed?. 2.2.0 had a horrible save corrupting bug which had to go out asap. At the same time numerous other simple tweaks were fixed. The mission issue clearly is not so simple though you woukd think it should be, but who are we to judge what is easy or hard?
If person x is charged with fixing something they do not down tools until person Y has fixed something else.
OK so 12 million in 3 hours?? LOL wow that's a lot if you consider what you can buy with that money. If you played each night for a week at 3 hours that's 84 million which is a ton of money. If you stretched that play time out over a month I bet you could make twice that - so 168 million in a game that's obviously meant to be played long term, so more than a few months and who's complaining about these runs being "nerfed" LOL?
Try ED launch day in 2014 where you got 350 credits for a delivery mission!
A problem of playstyles...as in the way I want to play isn't the right way according to others here...sorta contradicts the "play your own way" mantra. Appreciate the alternative choices, but thats not playing my own game, thats playing the game how others think is right...and thats what I take exception to.
You HAVE to be a fan of "Yes Minister" surely with that quality of sentence??!
Well, i was excited for the new update. Just logged on. But you guys already ticked me off to the point i dont even care to try out the new features. You guys took away a certain element of the game, that WASNT HURTING ANYONE!!!! You know, Ceos, Sothis, Aditi.... Oh wow, some of the guys and gals who didnt learn about them in time before griding hundreds of hours to buy an Andaconda were a little mad and upset, and you couldnt just leave it with the option of UA bombing, I mean that balanced it out pretty well because it renders a star port pretty much useless. There was honestly nothing wrong with the LRM's. You stooped pretty low Frontier. You catered to a smaller minority of people who were whining, when the other 75% of us loved it. Thanks for ruining my excitement for 2.2.
I came from xbox one, just bought Elite for PC a few days ago when i bought a T.Flight/HOTAS. I needed those LRMs to span the gap to that of my Xbox Profile. I regret buying it for PC now, because i have to put in months of playing just to get back to where i was. I work full time, i dont have the time to do all of that grinding, and i dont think the cost to benefit ratio here is sufficent.
Lets be honest here. 2.2 feels beneficial only to those who were financially well off before tte update, and from an experienced, long time player of Elite: Dangerous, the hopes of being able to enjoy this game on PC greatly diminished.
Yeah, Im going to go ahead and say it.
This is completely unfair and uncalled for.
I see your point but respectfully, I disagree. I already listed several options you might pursue, some of them involve combat, others don't. And again, there are very profitable locations, they are just not called "Sothis" anymore and you will have to look around a bit. That's not a problem
If you complain that the overall range of activities is still kinda limited (but getting better!) then I'd agree. I love ship launched fighters, that's exactly the kind of cool stuff that I love in a game. I can see the game growing very nicely, but it's nowhere near "there" yet for most players.
Um, bug fixing? I see a whole bunch of NEW bugs, and I dunno if they even fixed the old ones. Given how blatantly they lied in the patch notes about bugs being fixed, I'd say not.
