What engineering upgade to use on a huge multi-cannon would you recommend?

Pretty sure the devs mentioned they intend to make it so the corrosive bonus will increase with hard point size, but its likely not coming any time soon.

You got me--my plan is to be lurking on the sidelines, and when the smoke clears and the dust settles down, I'll come clean up all the scattered engineering materials:)

The others have it right. Now that I'm not on my phone I can show you why right here:

All you need to watch is the first minute,

As you can see, the sheer damage output even with the recent nerf is almost unmatched. I can attest to it still being the case as I just tested it on my friends account (I had to start over so I don't have my old vette)
Impressive. That's more engineer rolls than I ever care to make though.

I am a pve player but a pvp player might want to chime in about possibly replacing the missile rack with an imperial hammer with feedback cascade.

Knocks out opponents scbs while they are trying to use it, about 1/4 better than a rail gun over time due to rate of fire (rather than the 8% originally thought?) and can roll many grade 1 rolls easily (which you have the mats for ;)) to get lower heat as a secondary effect.

Edit - unless this just got nerfed?

edit2 - your corrosive will be wasted if something else is not being fired at the same time so replace the beam with a multi with incendiary?

edit3 - oh the large has the corrosive...make that the incendiary and the medium multi the corrosive?

The corrosive isn't wasted as my missles and the multi itself still are quite potent against hulls.

It's getting the Sheilds down that is a bit harder with just one c2 beam, the missles don't seem to help, even with thermal cascade.

I'm not much of a pvp'er so rails arnt that attractive, I've used them before but I'm not accurate enough to consistently hit. I'd prefer a plasma accelerator over rail guns, from my own preference.

I don't think I've ever noticed when an npc uses scbs, so if I caused a cascade effect it would be more luck than skill.

It seems like I should change from corrosive to incendiary.

And possibly a different type of missle? Not sure of the others effectiveness?

Is there anything better in class 2 for taking Sheilds down than beam? I can pritty much keep it constant( as long as it's still gimballed!), heat or wep cap isn't much of an issue.

Oh I replaced most of the random optional internals with hull reinforcements Srv/cargo/scanners.

Ah sorry thought you were a pvper....

For the corrosive you need to be hitting at the same time with other weapons rather than swapping is what I meant.

For me the weak point is the missiles.

I would think 2 pulses (efficient or focused) and a large multi with a high capacity blueprint and corrosive special would be the way to go with possibly a weapon grade 3 PD rather than a charge enhanced?

Could get shields down with constant DPS. Then fire all at once against the hull.

Also the grade 5 efficient pulses I got I think gave me armour piercing as a secondary in some/all of them? (rolled on 6 hardpoints).

I am running a similar setup on my fdl.

If you enjoy em go for it!

I have a beam, hammer and missiles on my Courier. I put a special of overload munitions on the missiles dropping from 18 to 14 but work against shields. I use it for fun also. That said a fixed beam with thermal vent and a hammer with low heat secondary effect and plasma slug special works just fine against shields for pve.

As I let off hammers my fuel goes down and my performance up due to the lower weight.

I think Snarfbuckle is referring to pack hounds - powerplay weapon?

A small note about incendiary rounds expect your thermal load to increase from 150-200% only way to reduce is by efficiency mod max 90% reduction so 110-60% per round, his stats on the video are from beta and are not representative .
Oc mod max 70% dps increase, on video he is more than 150% …. Is like plasma rapid fire
If you want to spent your time rerolling for months its your choice but for pve is not worth it , if you face a mc built keep him above 1.5 km you can avoid and damage is reduced considerably

On my Corvette I currently have turreted pulses on the small and mediums, a gimballed G5 OC Pulse with Scramble on the large, and the two huge points are G5 OC MCs with Incendiary.

I know people will say the optimum would be to switch one or a couple of the smalls to corrosive MCs because the debuff doesn't stack, although that may change in the future.

But the specific answer I want to know, is would one corrosive and once incendiary huge MC be more effective than the two incendiaries I have now? (taking into account the nerf that incendiary got in 2.2)
