I've finished extracting the Obelisk patterns into a machine-readable format. JSON and some documentation on using it is available from:
https://github.com/ixalon/elitedangerous/wiki/Synuefe-Obelisk-Decoding
I'd really appreciate it if anyone has a spare few second to look through some random images on https://github.com/ixalon/elitedangerous/tree/master/synuefe-obelisk/validation-images and check the red dots match the active lit triangles. I've been through it about 20 times so think everything is correct, but it's easy to miss something.
Big thanks to CMDR Ozric for the great quality video.
Hope somebody finds this useful... Now for the fun bit - trying to make sense of it!
Can I ask you how did you divide the patterns in time? Was every image taken every second, half a second...? I believe time may be a key clue in this.
The source video was 13 seconds long at 60fps, from this 771 frames were extracted. Each loop was 238 frames, i.e. pretty much exactly 4 seconds.
I'll add this to the docs![]()

Maybe something with the triangles that are never lit?
Seems there are a few in each of the blocks that do not get activated during the sequence.
*edit: Any way you can output a single composite image to show all the lit/unlit ones in each block?
Yeah, along the lines of what Xdeath most recently wrote, I think the Col system is most likely a bust at this point. It's almost definitely not 3A, and I'm about 75% sure its not 15G either, which seemed to be the two most likely candidates in that system. If you guys want to keep searching, all the power in the world to you haha. I think i'll be turning back to the Sol system to check out some of the new additions there. I don't know, I just have a feeling that one of the planetary surfaces has something in store for us...
Well there is space fungus on Colonia 3 C A evidently. It's not intelligent an alien structure or anything but alien life you can actually approach in an SRV is kinda cool.
Yeah, I was reading about that a little while ago and it does seem really cool. It's just that colonia is so. far. away. Haha, I bet there's something like that, or a variant of it, a lot closer to where I am now. Hopefully!
So there's really not enough discussion about the Eravate Probe I really think this might lead to another site.
A few of us have been looking at the 2 probes. We took a recording on the audio and measured out the pauses. This seems to the how it's spaced out. I'm not sure if this is significant.
My thought it that both probes in Lave and Eravate are Linked to make one puzzle. one Pocess the Y coords the other processes the X coords.
Here's Eravate's Message with spaces:
X 0 6 111 11 1111 111 11 11 1 6 111 11111 0 111 5 111 111 1111111 111 111 511 1 11 1 511 111 1111 111 111 111 5 1 0 1 5 111 111 1111 111 111 5 1 0 3 11 111111 11 3 0 1 5 111 111 11111111 111 111 5 1 0 5 11 11 11111111 11 11 5 0 1 3 111 111 111 3 1 0
Adding the sums don't make anything significant. I'd love some brain power on this though. I haven't had the time to Do LAVE's yet
Whatever we do, we make them proud.

So if the Elite Meet ruins no logner exist, as increasingly appears to be the case, would it then be safe to assume Fdev never intended for the trailer ruins to be discovered using xdeath's method?
You could argue that the elite meet footage was never released publically, but I don't think those atending were prohibited from using recording devices.
If this is the case then we could potentially have jumped 2-3 steps in their planned puzzle. So we could be essentially stuck until we go back and discover those initial steps to piece the discovery together.
Let me Try something.
To the Dev's:
"As an Interestet Explorer, i was heading to the Ruins as fast as Possible after i hear about it. I went there and Collectet some "Alien" looking Stuff, the first thing i did was, i sealed everything up just to be save (space parasits, or old virus you know), after that was done i went with my Science equipment to the stuff and looked if they are contaminated, nothing was found except some wired Energy Spikes.
So i went to the Canon Science Station with a prior broken off piece of one of the "Alien" Stuff, they went ahead with it and did a Radio Carbon Analysis and they was saying that this stuff is about - insert dev answer here - old."
So as you can see i simply ask how old this stuff is supossed to be, maybe it will help us a bit, but i think a Radio Carbon Analysis is possible in the Elite World.
When you can give us a answer about its age, we can completly trash the Generation Ship therorie or other stuff that donst match the Age.
(And sorry for my very bad english)
Greetings
Cmdr Metylan
Doesn't Radio Carbon Dating rely on knowing what the normal amount to then measure the decay?
That said there are probably other dating methods.
