Feds forcibly occupy Maia, repeatedly bully Palin, why do people support them in the CG???

There is a difference, it's the threat that goes along with it, as in the Federation underlines that this is a blockade and that you'd better f-off outta here. The Empire is projecting its presence without outright barring access, like either a protector or a watcher.
Or a blockader. The fact that this is not communicated with the Empire gives it room for interpretation.

So basically, the Feds admit they are there for a blockade and the Empire tries to hide the fact that they are there for a blockade?

Well, if you're going to do something wrong at least be honest about it.

Because hurrr imperials or something. The kind of people who back the Federation are the ones who aren't going to read into a situation far enough to understand its context. If they did, they wouldn't have backed the megacorporate space oligarchy to begin with.

It sure beats backing a genocidal Empire who has managed to all but completely brainwash their society into willingly embracing becoming slaves. If the Federation forcibly occupies Maia you can rest assured it's to keep the Empire's grubby little alien-strangling hands away from it.

You're asking us why we wanted to take control of one of the single most important systems in the game, away from an anarchist society that allows for murder and chaos to reign in said important system, while the Imperials try to muscle their way into every system possible? Lol idunno.

Why is it bad when the Federation does something, but as soon as the Alliance or Empire does the same thing on a much shorter time scale, there isn't even an inkling of outcry?

It took the Federation how long to send forces to Maia? A half a year? Maybe a year? While the Empire sends forces to the alien crash site in how long again? One week or two?

That allows for murder and chaos to reign....bahahahaha welcome to the galaxy cmdr! Do you know what game you're playing? Are you not aware of the high profile people the Federation has done away with to preserve their secret agendas? And maybe you forgot about the Federation's war on onionhead back in 3300? Where they would shoot on sight for ships carrying any amount and they bombed the farms killing their own citizens? And you accuse the Imperials of being the muscle? It is true but that is also the pot calling the kettle black!

Please point out where I said the Federation is perfect.

Because
'Murica in space.

I view the Federation much like the landscape of Bladerunner, or a myriad of other dystopian science fiction themes (since they all borrow from one another.) Bladerunner brought it to everyone quite visually and blurred the lines of morality and what defines being human, by showing the Replicants had more in some ways than the humans that created them (another recurring science fiction theme.)

You didn't but if youre gonna say Imperials are muscling around and Ant Hill Mob is chaotic and murderous without acknowledging that the Federation is guilty of the same it just doesn't make for a very strong point. Also you imply that the Federation winning Maia from the AHM will introduce control over the system. I think that only invites more conflict.

Maybe some people believe that but I sure as "h-e double hockey sticks" do not.

There seems to be some disconnect between "support" and "blind loyalty" here. Do I support the Federation? Damn right I do, but I do not, nor will I ever believe they are perfect in every way, because they aren't, it isn't possible to be perfect either.

Ah well.

Palin is a corporate shill masquerading as a neutral scientist. The Federation is simply doing what is needed to be done for the good of the galaxy.

Edit: hey, you guys could always train your slaves to fly if you are feeling outnumbered! :D

But he makes Exceedingly good engine upgrades. Nothing must happen to Palin, till at least i get my Vette Engines tuned to be incredibly dirty! :D

But they aren't guilty of creating spheres of influence where there is literally no law and anyone can murder anyone for any reason? Especially not in systems that would require some inkling of order, given the fact that they are in a system that is supposed to be dedicated to research.

I have acknowledged that the Federation muscles in and does some questionable      at times.

And it will introduce control and order, at least in the most base form; that little "lawless" indicator beneath all ships in Maia will disappear within two weeks due to Federal victory in the system.

As for whether it will invite more conflict, that is yet to be seen, though I will say, the only faction I can see attacking Maia after this will be the Empire, especially given Patreus's disregard for Fed/Imp treaties.

Or the Thargoids.

I tried hard to support the Ant hill mob in this CG, but the fact that over half the time the CZ does not show due to bugs and the correct CZ has a Federal Capital Ship present it makes supporting them really, really hard.

Shame really, this one was nearly over when it started!

Might want to get it soon. Palin hasn't said a peep since it started and with the Federation being the victor, he might go into hiding again and cut everyone off on Clean and Dirty drive upgrades. People have been screaming for a "persistent galaxy." That's pretty persistent if you ask me. ;)

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha !
Yeah, the "Imperial" way, as everyone knows, like that time the "Empire" stabbed their ally Mahon in the back so hard that he ended up with -5899 CC ?

Yeah, the "Empire" is a very well known backstabber !

You guys are pathetic with your constant lying. And the worse part is everyone's buying it ! Like the Federal fact that Imperial slaves are just as badly treated as slaves in Federal space while in fact they're (supposed to be, by law) treated just like any worker, under contract, and remunerated...

You guys are the master of propaganda, I'll give you that...

I was talking about what happened to your former "Emperor"...may he bask in a casket forever. R.I.P.
If you can't trust your own, who can you trust?

I am no trader in human misery either.

You mean like Hudson pushing Halsey to take a tougher stance, and when she does, she has innocent civilians killed en masse? Then she conveniently disappears afterwards and Hudson takes over. Nope, nothing like the Empire as all. ;)

Funny how Halsey was removed from the picture, wasn't it? Some would even suggest there may be a conspiracy involved but who really knows but who ultimately gained?
I want Halsey back, she's the one person who might be able to give better insight into the machinations of the human power struggle and may even have courted the Aliens...or at least some of them.

Why don't you guys do missions for the Empire faction and switch the station. Not like after the cg the feds can hold it if you do missions for the Empire faction.

The Ant Hill mob are an independent faction, not Imperial. They just asked the Empire to oppose the Federation in this takeover.

I could never understand how anybody could support the Feds. When I left their space and entered Imperial space the game changed greatly for me as the Imperials have better music, cooler ships, and have blue stations instead of those dark red ones the federation has. Its almost like the Feds are screaming "Hey we are the bad guys! Just look out our evil red stations!"
