Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

As for the SRV fuel "drainage" it seems to be a bug as reported on the PC and Mac bug reporting forum.

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/303123-SRV-does-not-refuel-when-docking-at-a-station

That doesn't say anything like that. It's talking about SRVs not refueling when docking at a station, not extra drain in a particular location

Do be careful with confirming/denying things as bugs, worth a read first or you might lop off an important branch of enquiry

yes, but my idea is to extract only the letter set and than arrange it in a 9 , 4 , 6 three words system name; not necessarily in the order as the have been extracted from the nonogram. Otherwise the name should be also with letters in alphabetic order....

take into account that DARK REGION or DARK SECTOR already fit with some column intestation... and they are 4 , 6 long I miss the last 9 letter long word
Vulpecula Dark Region perhaps?
I have a bug with bringing up the system map at the moment so even if I went out there (it's about 1KLY from Sol iirc) I wouldn't be able to do much to help search for interesting systems, unfortunately.

The Allied Police Forces are a bit stressed about some noises out here in California nebula.

Probably just the Barnies that are at it.

Thanks to CMDR Tehnomag, I've browsed the 2000+ possible solves for the nonogram with asteroids <<, none of which stands-out as obvious.

The problem with any alternative encoding method is that they still require the nonogram to be solved. Without a reference point we could be encoding-decoding for months. I'm thinking a bug-report titled 'Your Puzzle is broken/impossible' is called for, or maybe a PM to the Dev dealing with this puzzle?

I also looked through those solutions (in very rapid fashion, so might have missed something). Occasionally it seemed that it might form a letter or something, but it never seemed clear - just in the imagination.

Either this last part is something that will click when we have more info, or we are missing a key.

The beacon clues were left to help us find the site, however the site was found by 'other means' (Video) + Triangulation. - Do any of the clues remotely point to the site? i.e are we going backwards?

If above is the case then.

FD mentioned that finding things would 'trigger' other events - Such as activating the site beacons would trigger the next event. - We have triggered a countdown/up for an encounter event. If the site owners have been notified that we are snooping around, surely they will send something to checkout who's there?

very interesting. For now we triggered the palin blockade i.e?

Also, as per current investigation are there system that worth to be investigated for any other clues?

Just stopped in at Laklano with a medium ship after the system proved to have nothing for my Anaconda to land at.

Code at the station from 25th Oct is:

AGRJERN SBGFGAEVNGRDEZEBJ
EI1 QNPNVEBCADKAHSGNRV

Which you encrypt (I think I actually was encrypting instead of decrypting with the Takurua one too) using the code CRYHAVOK to get:

CONDANI PROVOCATIONHAZARD
AB1 MILITARYCHECKPOINT

Going to pop into Condani and have a look. In Takurua when I went to the anomaly signal it was just above a planet and there was nothing in it. I did consider landing on the planet under the signal but the planet was almost 2G and I was in my Conda so I decided not to risk it.

Regarding my posts earlier, so I checked out one Checkpoint at Condani AB 1 and the nav beacons there really only transmitted ther own location in morse code. The system authority there didn't message anything out of the ordinary. I checked local news and didn't find anything special.

I got the code from the Takurua beacon
7 5 2 0 2 1 1 3 2 1 5 2 5 1 9 repeated 4 times at 12pm. Checking local news before i try and solve it.

Is anyone able to take a look at system 18 Aquarii?

I've been searching EDDB System Bodies and this is the only system on the site with a '4c' that has no more detailed info. The other '4c' systems have a complete system layout available.

I have to say that from reading this saga over the last two days my impression was that you had probably discovered the in-game method that FD imagined you would use to discover the site that you're already at. Having said that, as usual this is effectively impossible to follow properly for someone with limited time, I tried to catch up on 30+ pages of discussion last night after I got home from work before realising that I wouldn't be able to actually play the game with the time required.

Best of luck. Maybe one day some of this content will actually be accessible to those of us who like to do our problem solving within a game rather than via a monumentally time consuming meta-fest. I have to say that as someone who was excited by the prospect of alien ruins from the first second I saw them in the trailer, this is not at all what I imagined the 'gameplay' around them would involve.

Not in any way a pop at the good people of Canonn and associates just to be clear.

It would have been nice, but the two systems are very different from each other.

I think it's somewhat unfortunate that the alien site was found in the way it was as it means people are not actively searching for the in-game clues that have lead us to it, perhaps with some further information as to what we should do when we arrived.

All that aside, it should be fairly trivial for FDev to conceive of a new method by which any relevant information could be discovered.

Heading there now

So right. I also hope (..sigh..) it will not be another "all that for that ?" Fdevs-style ...

Getumboys.

Takurua planet1 daring escaped prisoners.

It was posted a few pages ago but can't find it as quickly as I could re-solve it manually...

yeh, noticed after i'd gotten the codes that someone already had it. Saw a post that said we didn't have it and I was in the area. No idea what the daring part of it means, there isn't any surface bases that I can see, nothing at the anomalous signal source either.
anyway, sorry for wasting some time.

With so many bugs still in the game there is very little I can do, but read this thread. Passenger Missions = Bugged, Exploration = Bugged, SRV Research = Bugged, and some Outfitting = Bugged.

Please give us something unbroken to play with? And in the meantime, this is a very interesting thread to hang out in!
