Based on what I read I presume my puny i7 950 (3.1 Ghz) and GTX680 will not be able to handle the DK2 at 1080, correct?

My game is normally above 60 fps though (cept in rings and stations as usual)

A friend of mine attended GDC this year and had a chance to try out the DK2 for himself, he said it is far above the quality of the DK1. It didn't make him dizzy, the resolution and motion tracking was good enough that it was not really noticed, and the only time he was disoriented was when he actually took the goggles off.

Looks like I'll be keeping my goggles on then...goodbye real life ! :0

Hey there, first off let me tell you it is a good idea to get the rift. The experience is mindblowing. Second, I have to agree your system will likely be a bit low for the DK2. For reference I am using a i7 3930k with two 680 in SLI. Even in DK1 I sometimes feel the need to reduce game settings in order to gain more FPS. FPS is king in VR and remember, your computer will have to render everything twice. DK2 will require you to run at a minimum framerate of 75 fps. Otherwise you will get motion sick very quickly. Other than removing "presence" , framerate fluctuation are very uncomfortable. I for one will upgrade my PC for CV1. I think it may juuuust be powerful enough for DK2, if I stick to the 1080p resolution. (Which I run in DK1 already most of the time for the downsampling).

Oculus Rift users. I've got huge drift with mine! Could use some help

Hello,

Any rift users out there that has alot of yaw drift in ED? Mine drifts quite a lot, I put the rift on the desk and I can see the picture slowly yaw left for a good 10 seconds, then if I turn the HMD to the left, it will start to yaw back to the right for another 10 seconds.

I can reset the view but there is that yaw that is kinda crazy, I've got a few games which are working fine so I am not sure what I'm missing here. Is there some configuration for that or anything?

Any suggestions??

Thx for the tip, yeah I am running the latest version right now (0.18), unless there is a specific/older one that is better?

Can't wait for dk2 as the camera will fix this!

with my rift, no problems what so ever, try resetting the controls to default, and disconnect the joystick if you have one then try it out.
If not try to calibrate your rift, get the tool from the oculus web..
