All things Frontier Developments at E3 2014!

Hmm was that a micro-jump being performed in the 16 minute Gamespot video or a bug? You see him activate Hyperspace and he lands in the same system, then aligns once more to Eranin and repeats.

Mustve been a bug because both times he selected Eranin as target.

I only saw him jump from dahan to Eranin, the ui is different though

amazing bit in the end with the new station
http://www.gamespot.com/videos/e3-2014-elite-dangerous-developer-demo/2300-6419611/

but 17 draconis on the map is way out of human space, why is there a station there?

It's a "research" outpost.

Translation: It's a skunk works system where developers can test out their ships/stations/gameplay/other ideas and it's so far away from human space so that it'll effectively remain "off-limits" to alpha/beta backers no matter how large a volume of space is opened up during testing.

Nice vid, anyone else notice some changes to the supercruise interface?

Noticed there was a warning that said 'slow down' when the guy controlling the ship overshot the target, and the speed/distance UI on the left had a more 'digital' look than the simple numbers we have currently.

Couple of other tidbits I picked up (besides the pretty station):

- more populous / richer stations will have trees!

- the toast-rack thingy outside the docking slot will generate a electromagnetic field that will help is into the station.

- some or all of what we saw in the E3 video will make it into the next beta build.

- soopercruz now disengages at 1000km.

A (I'm personally a mix of delighted and upset about this - upset because my first born is due in January, so will have my hands full, and likely have a wife who'll be none too pleased at me faffing about with computer games; delighted because I'll have a month off work!)

You will have lots of time :), new babies don't do much apart from sleep and feed.

you will prob find yourself playing at strange times though!

You see a prox warning pop up on the screen, then "something" flies across the screen. Looked like a planet or some such, but resolution was not good enough to read the name.

He then re-engaged Hyperspace and carries on to Eranin.

Mis-jump?
Mass cancelling Hyperspace (if a system planet lies between you and destination)?
Dark system hit?
Bug?

yeap i eventually came to that conclusion ^^ ;)

thanks for the answer anyway.

i would add that it may also be some kind of diplay for touristic agencies like E3, a nice station, well above the galactic plan, 2 nice planets in the background...
a postcard in a way ;)
