Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

posted this already last night, but after midnight and it prolly got buried.

Could someone please confirm at least the 3 artifacts?

"Well another lucky observation that led to a test.

Some of the ancient artifacts and all of the relics don't show up on the wavescanner.
Exactly 3 artifacts are not on the scanner: 2 x orbs and 1x cascet all three in the big circle structure.
(borrowed and updated map + screenies of the 3 artifacts)

- confirmation needed (tested 2 instances)
- ideas needed, why only these 3 artifacts and the relics?

The wave scanner is broken currently. When signals overlap, one usually erases the other. There is no reliable way to test that.

It seems to me the nonogram depicts a system, but hasn't Drew said the Rift is not a POI or a single system?

This is the last of our current problem.
It can be something related to the Rift, but we are still unable to solve the lower part of the nonogram.
Resuming:

- Higher part is clearly a star system map
- It is high likely that the unefined gliph between star and planet 1 is the mark for am asteroid belt that could be drawn in three different way:
<
> or
>
< or
<
<

- The lower part has too many valid solutions (5k+) so unlikely we have to find the correct one to solve the puzzle. Other interprepations may be applied to the X and Y datas drawing the lower part (5 rows and 25 columns in total)

I think that when we will solve the puzzle we got a region name and a star map, so we would traver lo that region and searching for the right system.

Hope new idea will arise soon...

I just caught up on this thread... [wacky] [alien] I need a cup of tea and a Valium.

EDIT: Just want to confirm, we're still going to war with these Bugs when we find them right? *cocks shotgun

Nonogram - Bottom Left

WRT Sol/Lave/Eravate numbers, I have a couple of questions;

Were the initial errors present in the transmissions, or were they a transcription error?
Was the spoiler'd transcription on the front page provided in its current nonogram-friendly format by FDev, or did they supply unformatted numbers?

If the answer to the above is that the numbers, their format and other clues are now 100% accurate and complete, then the bottom left is probably not a system or a region name in the [6,4,9] format (or any combination of those 3 numbers).

If it was, then each word (could/) should have begun in the same Column, 3, rather than being distributed as it has been, i.e the numbers for Column-3 should have been [1,1,1,1,1] instead of just [1,1,1]

I might be optimistic in my beliefs that FDev hasn't further obfuscated an already irresolvable puzzle, but it doesn't seem necessary or logical.

The initial errors were present in the transmissions.

The spoiler'd string was provided by a dev after he fixed the problems with the transmissions after I sent them that format to show what we were working with.

I think we're pretty close but just lacking that Eureka moment.

Q1: error was in the transmission, than identified and confirmed by FD
Q2: unformatted number for X and unformatted for Y, splitted in two separated transmission (lave and eravate)
Q3: Maybe
Q4: This is the reason why we try considering the first column too, filling it with "0" and leading to a total of 26 column (26 as "a - z" alphabet letters)
Q5: I have the same doubt

I only just figured out why you've been banging on about 6 repeats :)

So the data points at dav's hope seem to tell a story of miners experiencing huge "quakes" as they phrase it, so bad "it felt like the entire planet was coming down on us"

Communication between the site "Lucy Minneux" and a "Nicholas Baker" continue arguing about shutting the site down.

Then this Nicholas Baker order the site to be shut down, and all confidential materials to be taken to "alpha site"

Have also experienced gravity changes on the planet, while in the SRV i get warnings of low gravity intermittently

In the old classic space exploration game "Star flight" you could find an artifact called the dodecahedron. It's purpose was to attract more alien ships to you.

Probably pointless info, but Starlight was a hell of a game. Perhaps a tribute item from the Devs? Or maybe not.
Yep, played that one too until ripe for asylum :)
In thread8 I pointed out already that Barnacles in fact might be the sentient species we are looking for, without recognizing em as such (equivalent to Starflights "Ancients")

I know the planet tidally locked but could we need to wait for some kind of conjunction for it to power up all by itself ? - lots of the other clues seem to only happen at a certain time of the hour, what about longer time periods ? those images are definitely counting down to something :) My money is still on a long range transportation mechanism - i.e. an orange swirly thing in space appears over the "landing pad" at certain times of the "year" and we all boost through in our waiting ships to.......

1Ba tidally locked but it dont have libration effect :(
I spend several days in one region of 1Ba. in first day i have 1B above me, on thirt day 1B went like my dreams about new mystery....

Unfortunately, my idea was build around the 9,4,6 letter long three words region name and was reinforced when I foud that Region/Sector and Dark are 6 and 4 letters long, so we miss the 9 word name. Then, I found that Dark and Sector/Region don't fit any shift of a - z for naming the 26 column due to the impossibility to put the "r" over a "2 letters" column and getting the "o" with something different from "0 letters".

Does this still hold with the 'bottom left' only starting on Column 3, and with Column 1 seemingly used as a border (0)?

btw, I've edited my post above a little for precision.

Wow...That is huge...That means, the things happening at the ruins are not bugs...

Thanks for clearing that up!
I took one of them far away from the base and you are right. it suddenly shows up.

The same time I took a relic with me and noticed something while staring at it:

Is it pulsing morse?

Most of the other codes FD has used for other puzzles have actually topped out at 22, which is a V.
