So I'm out at Dav's Hope just checking out the abandoned mining camp for myself, spooky but cool place! Really makes me want space legs and the ability to run around places like this in first person mode.
But I think I found out where Team 6's resting place is...
Yep Moodeo, I think you are right. Here is the extractor site just a bit up the hillside from Dav's Hope:
And here is why I believe this is where Team 6 was working, and judging from the station logs, ended up dying:
Rest in peace Team 6. [downcast]
Hi all
Found that at 46.28 / -31.27 (in the mountain)
Wasn't a POI.
I searched the north to south east circle side, approx 5-7 km far, the big mountain to the south canyons.
Will do deeper exploration of the canyons today
I visited the coordinates both with my ship and with my SRV - could find no trace of it. Maybe the wrong coordinates - could you check, Ulrin?
Exactly. And I don't want the end game now; I'd be happy to follow a mystery that had clever clues and difficult puzzles telling us where the next clue was. Right now, we have a progress bar. No thinking involved, just "deliver thing X to station Y, Z number of times."
Anyway, whatever. We have a CG and that's not going to change, unfortunately. I need more money after getting a space bus, so to the CG I go.
I am afraid this must have been a non-persistent POI - I couldn't find a trace of this site. Do you have coordinates, and did you check whether it is persistent?
Edit: Okay, it's definitely a random POI - I just found an extractor site with a door with exactly the same writings at a completely different location near Dav's Hope. Pity.
Random POI, don't get over excited.
As far as I understood the pre-release explanations by FDev,...
That is a very good question!
Asked it myself, didn't see it answered.
Would have a huge impact on search methods
Just a side note (from my side notes): "CRP-6" means exactly nothing in terms of this thread "mysteries". This writings are present in many types of planetary settlements and POI's buildings. Can suppose like relay point or something like. In fact it was present on one of the first versions of icons i've created to distinguish different settlements layouts=)
As far as I understood the pre-release explanations by FDev,
permanent POI´s after discovery by a player will show marker for THIS player afterwards - same logic as for systems U did visit/scan.
So IMHO even if in galmap U go to a specific body, U should be able to see & select the permanent POI ????

Congratz Denneb on your find!!!

Odd that the ruins don't do this for me. I haven't been out to the new crash site yet to see if I get the marker there.
Does the second crash site show on HUD as blue circle (POI indicator)? If not it seems logical that those persistant POI also don´t show markers for the player after his first visit...I did not get any marker for the second crash site. Been there a couple times already, checked the Morse there few times. No marker ever.
On the contrary, I had Dav's Hope marker for the mining site after my first visit there.
