Horizons Where are the CobraIV's? Nuked by 2.2?

Just be happy you dont find it, the ship is pretty much useless..... Want a cobra, stick too the Mk 3
It would make a pretty decent, cheap passenger ship now.
Some people also like or want the choice to purchase all the ship types in game, vs. cosmetic-only exclusives.
I ended up getting a Type-6 instead. But I feel defenseless in it, as it only has two small hardpoints (one of which is mining laser), not to mention I went sheildless (might as well). Maybe I will get used to that after a while. But I also could not outfit the Type-6 fully as I don't have enough Cr yet, but I will soon.
Also trying to figure out all the mining stuff (first time). I watched the vid by Obsidian Ant and part of one by another author (I think he was an idiot), but I still have to learn a lot about it. Since I had to cut corners on my config, my limpets don't last long and I seem to use a lot of them for just a few tons of metal. Only mined for half hour yet (WAS using two small mining lasers). Don't even know yet if I got the Platinum I wanted (will look tonight). I'm mostly in it for the mat metals, for RNGineers, but I'm going to see if I can get many mils Cr from it too.
Not sure if I understand where (exactly which asteroids) to find Platinum. So just trying the ones that have the best-paying metals now. Mining in a "Metallic Pristine Reserves" belt (not a ring) so far.
Hey can I use two refineries to reduce the "hopper full" time? If so, I assume I would still desire 10 bins in each?

If you own Horizons you've Engineers included. The offer was if you preorder horizons you'll get the Cobra MkIV to buy. (Some people thought for free, but that was the unclear statement from Frontier.)

If you are using the lens of 'Can this do what a Cobra 3 can?', then no it isnt that good. Thankfully it can do other things. PAX runs as mentioned, and also works as a decent light miner.
I was thinking of getting a Cobra Mk IV for those Criminal Mastermind passenger missions. I've been using the Mk III with a stealth loadout and have yet to be scanned. The Mk IV has more slots though, and rebuy shouldn't be too bad. No way I'm using my 'conda for those kinds of missions! Is anyone else using it for hauling wanted passengers?
The Cobra IV is very very slow, that said, I still have not had a station scan 'complete' yet.
The Engineers update is part of the Horizons season in the same way that the Guardians update is, there is literally no way to purchase these updates separately and there never has been.
The Cobra Mk IV is for people that owned both the base edition of ED and the Horizons season pass before a certain date shortly after the Horizons release.

Here are some real facts:
The thread you linked to has been modified from its original reading. In effect it has had a section added including a piece about a cut off date being added. This thread originally stated that the Cobra IV was not time limited, and that you just needed to have Base ED and to then purchase Horizons. I know because I believed it upon reading it when it was first posted. It was a relief to me at the time as I knew I could not afford the outlay for Horizons until a way after Christmas (we are not all rich single people who can afford to spend spend spend on just ourselves, and sometimes have to put our familys first).
I bought it (Horizons) on February 6th to be precise, in the sale that was notified to me by email from Frontier. And thenI found out the Cobra iV had been changed to a time limited offer after all without any massive hype or fanfare, I believe this change was made on the 4th after my exploration work.
I then proceeded to query this direct with Frontier, and got the very lack lustre reply that effectively stated that that is just the way it is.
I have a long thread on the forum somewhere about this very issue, mainly made to warn others that the Cobra IV was unavailable.
Perhaps you would care to find that one, as all the facts you really require are in there, and not edited to fit the change.

FD changed the offer for qualifying to purchase Cobra Mk IV from -any time- to -before xx.yy date-
Whether this was good, bad, poor service, FD support should allow reinstatement, whatever - are opinions and debteable. The change in offer terms for qualifying to buy Cobra Mk IV is fact. Some customers were affected by this as they saw only the first terms, not subsequently changed terms is also fact.

Yes apparently as I did buy ED in its first year, but did not buy Horizons (read as could not afford to buy in december and january) in its first 40 or so days of release, I can quite clearly read that I am not worthy of Frontiers thanks.....Cheers for that guys, what a way to make your customers feel good.
