Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

I'm browsing different types of bar codes to see if there is anything, which that would fit the sonogram. Zilch so far...

I still think this barcode style matches up, as long as you count the wider blocks in the obelisk data as sets of two and three “bars”:

I've been trying to use this to decipher it:

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/41/CPC_PostBar_character_chart.png

but I'm not getting anything I understand from it, maybe it needs to be decoded afterwards too though...

It’s just that the numbers and letters I get are gobbly gook.

in few words: another misterious thing impossible to spot from high orbit.

Yeah, I’ve spent a few hours now flying over both planets 3 and 5 in the COL 132 SECTOR CN-Z B30-10 but I’ve not seen anything of note yet. And you can’t really search from orbital cruise because it’s just too high up, so searching pretty much means flying over the surface with thrusters at like 15 – 20km up. Which is a very slow way to search even relatively small planets like these.

The proverbial needle in a haystack, but we aren’t even certain that the needle is even IN the haystack!

We need more information. Hopefully the obelisk data can help us somehow, maybe even give us coordinates.

Guys,

is there a list somewhere maintained about systems where a Unregistered Communications Beacon has been found?
What needs to be done in order to let these beacons to talk? :)

I have found one on the 10/28/2016 but at that time I did not know they may lead to some information that helps to identify something about an alien crash site or similar.

I am planning to go back and verify in that system whether this beacon is still there and if does "talk" or not, 'cos during my first discovery I could not manage to have it "talk" to me.

Thanks,
A.

This is that place, post it in the thread and it'll be added to the front page.
beacons normally send a message out on or just after the hour, although they can be at half past the hour as well.
Go to the location, sit around the speculated time and listen for numbers.
Also double check the beacon you found isn't located on the front page so as not to waste your time.

if anyone wants it in another format then just ask and i'll get it for you.

I am searching this list for surface POI around interesting planetary features, and i know not to fly under 2k, but how high above 2k can i be? 5? 3? What is the range to be in above 2k where surface POI are still pinged by my ship radar?

I've been up towards 20km and had POI's show on my radar. However, it would seem the important stuff (crashed alien ships, ruins etc.) do not show as POI's. . .

A good trick is to get close to the surface. Then pitch up and lift off again, engaging frameshift, but as opposed to lifting into full orbital cruise, try to line your ship up with the horizon. Just don't drop below the 0 degree mark. This way you can get good speed and cover more ground, but maintain a relatively low altitude.

The proverbial needle in a haystack, but we aren’t even certain that the needle is even IN the haystack!

I'll admit that upon seeing both systems, I immediately gave up. One test I always use is the boring vs interesting test. The test has served me well in the past, especially when searching planet surfaces. Based on the idea of Frontier, being, you know, humans, are going to pick a system that would be interesting to humans.
The systems themselves are not that interesting.

That was, of course, coupled with the enigma of Col 173 Sector KY-Q D5-47. Whether the System still has Ruins or the Ruins were moved, it throws a wrench into your theory.
From what we've seen from the Elite Meet footage, the Ruins in Col 173 Sector have a similar layout to the Synuefe Sector Ruins.
Your theory involves lining up the Synuefe Sector Ruins with Sol, which, in turn, lined up two other Systems. However that exact same result could not be achieved by lining up Col 173 Sector (supposed Ruins) with Sol.
We can't base any theory of Col 173 Sector because no one has confirmed that the Ruins are there, but we can't discount it because no one has confirmed that the Ruins aren't there.

Meanwhile, the following starports are on the brink of closure:

Will 12 UAs be enough to push Wright City over the limit? Probably not:

So i am just to look for visual evidence of some ground based anomaly? Also, is there something broken with the scanner? I show high range indicated on my radar, but when i drive towards it, the signals disappear. I was driving at a heading of 270 or so and moving towards what should have been a POI, and the signal disappeared and reappeared behind me at heading 30 or 40. I drive towards 30 or 40 and it disappears again!!!    ?

I came to an idea about those sound recordings:

There are more then one obelisk and they might or might not produce sounds? So the Sound generates a pattern. AND there are symbols on each obelisk.
Well, since I'm too far away to try it by myself:

What if anyone activates all obelisks and looks for a place, where the sounds of them converge? Maybe we get the complete pattern, when we record the complete sound of all obelisks.
And: I believe the symbols on the obelisks might be some kind of key to the code. Or to the position at wich the sounds merge...
