Interesting. Maybe economy/government as well as population affects upper limit. Or security state. Or everything including some FDev server dude's mood in the morning
MAs sold to station before bombing will count towards countering effect
Yeah I know, there are lot's of free ways to store pictures on the web now, call me old fashioned but I've always preferred to keep a webserver going with a bit of space and use FTP to upload like it's 1999!

yeah its one of those quite legal ingame activities but muddy politically and frowned on theres just a lack of public information and testing on how this part of the background simulation is actually working
What i thought was a nebula is most likely a galaxy out side of our own tried flying down to it in the galaxy map and its way far away so now i'm looking for that star that Masheikh Scytale noticed. Could be on to something. We'll see.

Anyone thought of enhancing those pictures, then using a barcode scanner on them?

If they are barcodes you don't need a laser reader. Someone who works in retail can probably read the numbers from the lines. It's not just plausible though, because on barcodes (The one I'm looking at right now on my tobacco pack) there is a longer double line, that seems indicative of a header and a footer given that it is at the beginning, centre and the end of the string. Also there is one very thick line, one medium weight line, one less thick line, and one single thin line together with one shorter double thin line. It's possible that could be it because that makes six individual components, which is exactly what we see in the code! I got a feeling that's it. But why do these numbers carry on indefinitely? Primes?
Let me get back on my mac and I will try to turn the bars into a more readable barcode. Then all we need is someone who works in a supermarket to read 'em!

Probably not but well worth a thought, i was passing through this sector of space so ill keep an eye out for listening posts and unreg comms beacons
