Wasn't there a GalNet Article some weeks ago, that Federation starts probes for exploration, if i remember right ?
Maybe , these are the probes. A hint for us in which part of the galaxy we have to search.

Sirius Corporation and Mars High were collaborating on them.

A spokesperson for the Sirius Corporation has revealed that the mega-corporation has deployed hundreds of deep-space probes and signalling technologies throughout the galaxy.

The spokesperson said: "Sending pilots into the void is fraught with danger. These probes can go further and faster than a human pilot, at much reduced cost and with, I daresay, more reliability. We've been working closely with the Mars High Astrocartography department on the probes' design."

"Human pilots are interested in sightseeing, chasing myths and 'making their mark' on the galactic stage. They get sidetracked. Our probes are immune to such distractions. At present, galactic exploration is conducted in a sporadic and improvisational way. Soon we will have far better coverage of the galaxy."

One independent pilot, who opted to remain anonymous, said: "There's something odd about this. I'd hazard a guess these probes have self-defence capabilities. I'll be giving them a wide berth."

I was definitely in that LZ-H system last night, and there wasn't a comms beacon on my contacts. Fishy.

I swear 2 of the 3 ? letters are being pronounced as 'telco', which doesn't match anything in the Nato phonetic. Help!
Small update: Going by the previous messages where the line above 'MODE STANDBY' is the system that the beacon is in, I filled in a couple letters I was missing.

Yes, their radio procedure is poor. Try H (hotel) as that seemed to work for someone in one of tne other messages

Ah, I thought they might have put the beacons away from the main star - but then, I reasoned, if they were rally point beacons they would be on the main star when you jump in!

So we need to make sure we are scanning all stars in a system within 1000 lys. got it :)

So the salome / Imperial :issue: now threatens to disclose some embarassing or other federation project that they wish to remain quite so now they take action. Or somethign else

Was that RALLYPOINT 2? Or RALLYPOINT C2?


The former hints at a numerical sequence of beacons.

The latter hints at local in-system locations, ie. landable bodies. That's odd, as LZ-H doesn't have a simple body "1". You'd expect "D1", as that is the first landable body.


I'm inclined to think they are beacon numbers, but that's based on very little info, and a big dollop of guesswork. So feel free to run with any other theory, lol. :)

I think the "Dynasty" suggests the probes are Imp rather than the recently announced Sirius long range probes (who appear to be heavily Federation aligned). I think because the messages are a bit garbled & quite noisy this is supposed to imply the beacons are old, so I think these are Galcop era, possibly some colonisation expansion attempts that went wrong somehow & we are supposed to find what happened to the expedition convoys. This may be the source of the Formidine Rift mystery, and Salome has said the Rift, Conflux & Gap events are all related, so perhaps the expeditions met some unfriendly aliens, or maybe something like the Reavers in Serenity- either would explain the Old Lady's phrase that the Imps and Feds both wanted to conceal what happened.

My suspicion is that all the beacons are going to be the same and on'standby'

It'll need a separate event to activate them, possibly the completion off the CoR CG, when they'll start to transmit the message that will clear Salome.

How many tiers does the CG have? Maybe that will determine how many beacons get activated.
