I thought I read on 2.2 patch notes that bad binary landing had been fixed. If upon landing on a binary system the nav comp detects another high mass (a star) it would break at a safe distance from the closest star.
Yesterday night I passed trought the core of a secondary star old fashion, emerged in its corona at 120% heat, recovered from an hearth attack, popped an heat sink, switched off fuel scoop, distributor and shields, sced away with 4% module and hull dmg.
No biggy, If it wasn't for a close stroke. you know when you jhonk like if there's not tomorrow for the CG, everything is samey, they you fly through a star? That stroke.
Not lamenting, I find binary landings a good unavoidable risk that entertains me, just tought they had "fixed" it.
